Combat Training 60: Soldier

Combat Training 60: Soldier is a hostile-hunting mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 60. There is one objective, defeat five level 60 hostiles, and the mission is warp 1 at both ends, so it starts and completes without a trip to a pickup system. The reward is 3,600,000,000 Dilithium and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 600,000,000 more Dilithium than the level 59 Soldier mission before it.

Combat Training 60: Soldier objectives

The mission has a single objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat 5 Level 60 hostiles.

The story line is the same one every Combat Training mission uses: test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. No specific system is named, so any level 60 hostiles count toward the five kills. The hostiles have to be level 60, which rules out farming weaker targets for it.

Where and what warp

There is no pickup system listed, and warp 1 is shown both to start and to complete. In practice the warp you need is whatever it takes to reach level 60 hostiles, since the mission does not send you anywhere in particular. The recommended level is 60, matching the hostiles you have to defeat.

Combat Training 60: Soldier rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 3,600,000,000
Ultra Recruit Token 2,400

Completing it also unlocks the next Combat Training mission in the line.

Combat Training 59 and 60 compared

The Soldier missions at this end of the line ask for the same number of kills and pay the same number of recruit tokens. What changes is the hostile level and the Dilithium.

Mission Recommended level Objective Rewards
Combat Training 59: Soldier 59 Defeat 5 Level 59 hostiles 3,000,000,000 Dilithium, 2,400 Ultra Recruit Token
Combat Training 60: Soldier 60 Defeat 5 Level 60 hostiles 3,600,000,000 Dilithium, 2,400 Ultra Recruit Token

Going from 59 to 60 adds 600,000,000 Dilithium for the same five kills, one level higher. Both missions are warp 1 at both ends.

Tips

Bring your strongest combat ship and crew. The five hostiles all sit at level 60, the same as the recommended level, so a ship that struggles against same-level targets will spend more time repairing than fighting.

Fold the kills into your normal grinding. Because no system is named, you can finish this while hunting level 60 hostiles for other reasons, as long as the targets are the right level.

Watch the level on each target before you engage. The objective names level 60 hostiles specifically, so check the level of each target rather than attacking whatever is closest.

The 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens are the same amount Combat Training 59: Soldier pays, so the Dilithium is what grows between the two. If you also run the Veteran line at this level, Combat Training 60: Veteran has its own page, and every other mission by level is on the mission guide.
