Combat Training 55: Veteran

Combat Training 55: Veteran is the top tier of the level 55 combat training missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. You defeat a single hostile captain at about 25.6 million strength. It starts and finishes at warp 1 with no pickup system, carries a recommended level of 55, and pays 2,160,000,000 Dilithium and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens. That is one of the largest Dilithium payouts in the combat training series.

Combat Training 55: Veteran objectives

The story line is shared by the whole combat training series: test yourself against hostiles of rising difficulty. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat the hostile captain. Enemy strength is roughly 25,583,987.

No system is named for the captain, so there is no fixed route to plan.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The recommended level is 55, and unlike most of the lower combat training missions, which list level 1, that figure matches the difficulty. A captain above 25 million strength is an endgame fight.

Combat Training 55: Veteran rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 2,160,000,000
Ultra Recruit Token 2,400

Completing this mission unlocks Combat Training 56: Rookie.

The level 55 tiers

Each combat training level runs Rookie, Soldier and Veteran in turn. Combat Training 55: Rookie asks for three level 55 hostiles and pays 720,000,000 Dilithium and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens. The Veteran tier pays three times that Dilithium, with the same 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, in exchange for one much harder fight.

How the late Veteran tiers compare

Mission Captain strength Dilithium Other rewards
Combat Training 50: Veteran ~11,862,502 68,625,000 15 1 Day Speed Ups, 3,200 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 8 James T. Kirk shards
Combat Training 55: Veteran ~25,583,987 2,160,000,000 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens
Combat Training 59: Veteran ~41,714,474 4,500,000,000 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens

Between level 50 and level 55 the reward structure changes. Level 50’s Veteran tier pays speed ups and officer shards alongside tens of millions of Dilithium; at levels 55 and 59 the Veteran tier pays only Dilithium, now in the billions, plus a flat 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens. The captain’s strength roughly doubles from level 50 to 55.

Dilithium across the level 53 to 60 missions

From level 53 onward, every combat training mission with current data pays the same 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, so the Dilithium is what separates them:

Mission Dilithium
Combat Training 53: Soldier 1,000,000,000
Combat Training 55: Rookie 720,000,000
Combat Training 55: Veteran 2,160,000,000
Combat Training 57: Soldier 2,120,000,000
Combat Training 59: Soldier 3,000,000,000
Combat Training 60: Soldier 3,600,000,000

The level 55 Veteran payout is higher than the level 57 Soldier tier, which makes this captain one of the better Dilithium returns before level 59.

Tips

Bring your strongest ship and crew. At over 25 million strength, this is a single fight where every bit of ship power matters.

Enter at full hull. With only one objective and no warm-up, a repaired ship is the easiest edge you can give yourself.

Plan the Dilithium. Over two billion Dilithium goes a long way toward endgame building and research costs, so decide where it goes before it lands. The full series is on the combat training missions page.
