Combat Training 41: Soldier is the middle tier of the 41st Combat Training step in Star Trek Fleet Command. You defeat five level 41 hostiles, and no system is fixed. It starts and finishes at warp 1, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 3,386,000 Dilithium, 800 Premium Recruit Tokens, 368,000 Officer XP and three Nero shards, and completing it unlocks Combat Training 41: Veteran. Five kills for this payout is a good trade for anyone already hunting level 41 hostiles.
Combat Training 41: Soldier objectives
The series story line asks you to test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. There is one objective and no choice split:
- Defeat 5 Level 41 hostiles.
No system is named, so you pick where to fight. Only five kills are needed here, half the ten that most Soldier tiers from level 20 to level 40 ask for.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system.
The listed recommended level is 1, which says nothing useful about a level 41 combat task. The real bar is a ship that can beat level 41 hostiles and reach systems where they spawn.

The three level 41 tiers compared
| Tier | Objective | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Combat Training 41: Rookie | Defeat 3 level 41 hostiles | 3,009,000 Dilithium, 3 Gorkon shards |
| Combat Training 41: Soldier | Defeat 5 level 41 hostiles | 3,386,000 Dilithium, 368,000 Officer XP, 800 Premium Recruit Tokens, 3 Nero shards |
| Combat Training 41: Veteran | Defeat the hostile captain (about 1,124,459 strength) | 5,642,000 Dilithium, 13 × 1 Day Speed Up, 1,700 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 3 James T. Kirk shards |
The three tiers together pay 12,037,000 Dilithium and three shards each for Gorkon, Nero and Kirk.
How the Soldier tiers compare
| Mission | Kills | Dilithium | Officer XP | Premium Recruit Tokens | Shards |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Combat Training 36: Soldier | 10 | 7,450,000 | 265,000 | 650 | 4 Kras |
| Combat Training 38: Soldier | 10 | 16,800,000 | 300,000 | 700 | 10 Vixis |
| Combat Training 40: Soldier | 10 | 42,000,000 | 350,000 | 750 | 6 Nero |
| Combat Training 41: Soldier | 5 | 3,386,000 | 368,000 | 800 | 3 Nero |
| Combat Training 48: Soldier | 5 | 20,925,000 | 475,000 | 1,150 | 7 Nero |
Level 41 resets the Dilithium scale: it pays far less than level 40 did, with half the kills. Officer XP and recruit tokens keep rising in step, and by level 48 the Dilithium has climbed back past 20 million. The same reset shows in the captain fights. Combat Training 40: Veteran pits you against a captain of about 2,104,711 strength, while the level 41 captain is about 1,124,459.
Tips
Do the Rookie and Soldier tiers together. They need eight level 41 kills between them, so one hunting session in a level 41 system can clear both in turn.
Save the Officer XP for the crew you plan to take into the level 41 captain fight.
Nero shards also come from other Combat Training Soldier tiers from level 40 on, so this mission is one of several steady sources. Other missions are listed on the mission guide.
