Chain Breaker is a short combat mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you destroy the ships of an Orion Slaver. It is picked up in Opla and needs warp 13 both to start and to finish. There are two objectives, both fights in Opla: first Crose at roughly 16,207 strength, then Neskar at roughly 18,405. The reward is 7,000 Officer XP and 1★ Survey Parts. It is quick to run, and the Officer XP is the part worth having.

Chain Breaker objectives

There are two objectives and no choice split:

  • Defeat the Orion Slaver, Crose. Location: Opla. Enemy strength is roughly 16,207.
  • Defeat the Orion Slaver, Neskar. Location: Opla. Enemy strength is roughly 18,405.

The whole mission is two named fights in one system. Crose comes first and is the lighter target. Neskar follows at about 18,405, a little over 2,000 stronger, so the second fight is the one to prepare for.

Nothing else is asked of you. There is no travel between systems, no donation and no return trip listed.

Where and what warp

The mission is picked up in Opla. The game lists warp 13 to start and warp 13 to complete, and both fights are in Opla, so once you are there the mission stays in one place.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The two fights are a better guide: a ship that can beat an 18,405 hostile can finish the mission.

Chain Breaker rewards

Reward Amount
Officer XP 7,000
1★ Survey Parts 1

The current data does not list a further mission unlocked by this one.

How Chain Breaker compares with similar missions

Chain Breaker shares its warp 13 range with Day of the Dove, and its second target is the same strength as the scavenger in that mission. Current game data for both, plus another early combat mission:

Mission Warp to complete Fights Rewards
Chain Breaker 13 Crose at about 16,207, Neskar at about 18,405 7,000 Officer XP, 1 1★ Survey Parts
Day of the Dove 13 Up to three, between about 17,801 and 18,405 depending on your choice 10 Komal shards plus 5,000 Officer XP or 150,000 Parsteel
Buyer’s Remorse 12 A scrap dealer at about 17,996, only if you choose to fight Klingon Recruit Tokens, Survey Parts and resources

If your ship can finish Chain Breaker, it is ready for the fights in both of these, since none of them goes above about 18,405.

Tips

Repair between the two fights if Crose leaves you damaged. Neskar is the stronger of the two, and you face them back to back in the same system.

The Officer XP is the real reward. 7,000 Officer XP is useful for levelling a low-level crew, while a single 1★ Survey Part is a token amount.

Since there is no travel inside the mission, this is a good one to run whenever a combat ship is already near Opla. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
