Buyer’s Remorse is an early Star Trek Fleet Command mission about a scrap dealer who has come upon parts for the Botany Bay. You check a debris field in Amador, track the dealer to Nausicaa Prime, then either pay for the parts or take them by force. It opens at warp 1 and needs warp 12 to complete. Both paths pay 6 Klingon Recruit Tokens and 2★ Survey Parts; paying costs 10,000 Tritanium but returns more. The same story also runs as Augments Part 6, with a cheaper donation and double the tokens.
Buyer’s Remorse objectives
The first three objectives are shared:
- Go to the debris field in Amador. Location: Amador.
- Track the scrap dealer to Nausicaa Prime. Location: Nausicaa.
- Acquire the parts from the scrap dealer.
At the third step the game asks how you should acquire the scrap, and the mission splits.
Path 1: pay for the parts
- Donate 10,000 Tritanium.
- Return the parts to your station.
Path 2: take the parts
- Defeat the scrap dealer. Location: Nausicaa. Enemy strength is roughly 17,996.
- Return the parts to your station.
Path 1 has no fight at all; you hand over 10,000 Tritanium and fly home. Path 2 costs nothing up front but puts you against the scrap dealer at about 17,996 before you can bring the parts back.
Where and what warp
The mission becomes available at warp 1 and needs warp 12 to complete. Amador and Nausicaa are the two systems in the mission, and both paths end at your station. No pickup system is listed.
The recommended level is listed as 1. On Path 2 the scrap dealer fight is a better guide to what your ship needs.

This version of the mission does not unlock a follow-up. The Augments version below is the one that leads on in the chain.
Which path to take
Path 1 is the better return if you can spare the Tritanium. For 10,000 Tritanium you get 43,000 Parsteel, 18 2★ Uncommon Refined Crystal and 60 more Survey Parts than Path 2 gives, with no fight.
Path 2 suits a player who is short on Tritanium or has a combat ship ready. You keep your Tritanium, gain 4,000 more, and still get the 6 Klingon Recruit Tokens and 100 Survey Parts.
Buyer’s Remorse in the Augments chain
The mission also appears as Augments Part 6: Buyer’s Remorse in the Augment storyline. It follows Lessons of the Past (Part 5), and finishing it unlocks Broken Chains as Part 7. The story, the systems and the warp are the same: warp 1 to start, warp 12 to complete, Amador then Nausicaa.
The objectives differ in two places. The third step asks you to acquire the scrap rather than the parts, and the paid path costs 3,000 Tritanium instead of 10,000. Each path also pays 12 Klingon Recruit Tokens instead of 6. The scrap dealer fight on Path 2 is unchanged at about 17,996.

At 3,000 Tritanium, the paid path in the Augments version is an easy call for most players: it skips the fight and still returns 43,000 Parsteel.
Tips
The story is about parts for the Botany Bay, and both paths pay 2★ Survey Parts: 160 if you pay, 100 if you fight. If Survey Parts are what you are after, Path 1 gives more of them.
If you choose to fight, bring a ship that handles about 17,996. That is close to the strength of the fights in Day of the Dove and Chain Breaker, so a ship that clears those will clear this.
