Breadcrumbs is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in the pursuit of the missing USS Enterprise. A signal takes you to New Berlin, where a Corvallen has information, and you choose whether to bribe or intimidate him before following his lead to Kor Na Ron. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 70 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but warp 70 and the choice costs are the real bar. Bribing costs 67.6 million Parsteel and pays refined ore; intimidating means a fight of about 1.97 million strength and pays 52.2 million Parsteel.

Breadcrumbs objectives

Two shared objectives come first:

  • Investigate the signal in New Berlin. Location: New Berlin.
  • Decide how to deal with the Corvallen. This is the choice split.

Bribe the Corvallen for the information

  • Donate 67,600,000 Parsteel for the information.
  • Follow the Corvallen’s lead to Kor Na Ron. Location: Kor Na Ron.

Reward: 160 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore.

Intimidate the Corvallen for the information

  • Interrogate the Corvallen. Location: New Berlin. Enemy strength is roughly 1,969,977.
  • Follow the Corvallen’s lead to Kor Na Ron. Location: Kor Na Ron.

Reward: 52,200,000 Parsteel.

Where and what warp

The mission appears at warp 1 and needs warp 70 to complete. New Berlin is where the choice happens, and both paths end in Kor Na Ron.

The recommended level is listed as 1. On the bribe path the requirement is 67.6 million Parsteel; on the intimidation path it is a ship that can beat a 1.97 million strength Corvallen.

Breadcrumbs rewards

Choice Cost or fight Reward
Bribe the Corvallen 67,600,000 Parsteel 160 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore
Intimidate the Corvallen Corvallen, about 1,969,977 52,200,000 Parsteel

Either path unlocks the next mission, Grand Theft Otto.

Bribe or intimidate?

The gap between the two paths is large in Parsteel terms. Bribing costs 67.6 million, and intimidating pays 52.2 million, so the difference is about 120 million Parsteel in favour of the fight.

The bribe only makes sense if you need 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore badly and have Parsteel to burn, or if your ship cannot win a fight of about 1.97 million strength yet. If your ship can take the fight, intimidation is the stronger choice.

Where it sits in the story

Breadcrumbs follows Stolen to Order and leads into Grand Theft Otto. Current game data:

Mission Warp to complete Combat Rewards
Stolen to Order 70 10 hostiles of level 40 or higher, Mercenary Leader (about 1,969,977) 700 each of 4★ Common Explorer and Interceptor Parts
Breadcrumbs 70 Corvallen (about 1,969,977) on one path 160 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore or 52,200,000 Parsteel
Grand Theft Otto 56 Three hijacked ships (about 1.95 to 1.97 million) and the USS Enterprise (about 5,773,328) 90 4★ Uncommon Refined Gas, 180 4★ Uncommon Explorer Parts

Grand Theft Otto is the big one, with four fights including a 5.77 million strength USS Enterprise. If you took the fight here, your ship has already shown it can handle the three hijacked ships that come first.

Tips

Check your Parsteel before choosing. The bribe path asks for the full 67.6 million Parsteel as a donation, so make sure that will not stall an upgrade you are saving for.

Repair before Grand Theft Otto. It opens with a fight in Kor Na Ron, where this mission ends.
