Bound Together is a milestone mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single goal: earn a Rank IV Commendation with any faction. It needs no travel, with warp 1 to start and to complete, and the recommended level is listed as 1. The reward is large for a mission with no fights in it: 5,000,000 Parsteel and 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens. Finishing it unlocks Close Calls, so it is also a gate in the story sequence.
Bound Together objectives
There is one objective and no choice split:
- Earn a Rank IV Commendation with any Faction.
The mission does not send you anywhere or ask you to fight a named target. It completes when you hold a Rank IV Commendation, and the objective accepts that rank from any faction, so you can work toward it with whichever faction you already favour.
Because the requirement is a commendation rank rather than a task inside the mission, Bound Together tracks progress you make elsewhere in the game. How quickly it clears depends on how far along your commendations already are.
Where and what warp
There is no pickup system and no destination. Both warp values are 1, so no ship ever has to leave dock for this mission. The recommended level is listed as 1; the practical requirement is reaching Rank IV with one faction.

Completing Bound Together also unlocks Close Calls. The mission before it in the sequence is Deeper.
Bound Together and Your Reputation Precedes You compared
A sister mission, Your Reputation Precedes You, asks for a Commendation Rank III from any faction instead of Rank IV. Its story text points at the Faction Store for that commendation.

The two rewards are identical, down to the last Parsteel. The only difference is the commendation rank: Bound Together asks for one rank higher. If you have already cleared the Rank III mission, the simplest route to this one is to keep building with the same faction.
Tips
Focus on one faction. The objective accepts any faction, so spreading your effort across several slows the one rank that counts.
Plan your Parsteel. Five million in a single reward is a large chunk for building upgrades, so it helps to know which upgrade you are saving for before you claim it.
Hold the Ultra Recruit Tokens for the recruit you want. At 800 they are the same amount as the Rank III mission pays, so the two missions together give 1,600.
