Baelosian Spearhead

The Baelosian Spearhead is a Federation faction hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command, spawning at levels 50 to 60 in Federation space at warp ranges from 185 to 400. The Baelosians are one of the game’s spacefaring species rather than classic Star Trek canon, and this is their combat ship in Federation territory. It only appears as an Interceptor, so bring an Explorer. Kills drop 5★ Broken Interceptor Parts and award Romulan and Klingon reputation, at the cost of your Federation standing.

How to beat the Baelosian Spearhead

The Spearhead spawns only as an Interceptor, so there is no class puzzle: bring an Explorer, which gets a natural damage and mitigation edge against Interceptors. The same answer holds from level 50 through 60, with nothing to swap between levels. Its stats grow about twentyfold across that range, so treat the level 60 version as a different fight from the level 50 one even though the tactics stay identical.

It also has a defensive trick. Its ship ability, Plausible Deniability, recovers a share of its total shield HP for each of the first five rounds of combat, and it scales with level: 10% at levels 50 to 52, 15% at 53 to 55, and 20% at 56 to 60. Early shield damage keeps healing back, so plan for sustained damage rather than counting on an opening burst; your progress sticks once the regeneration window ends.

For crew, run a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles, backed by officers that add damage or mitigation. At these levels you are past cadet crews. Check the Officer Tier List for current picks, and treat any named combo as a starting point, since crews shift with the meta.

Where to find the Baelosian Spearhead

The Spearhead works a compact cluster of Federation systems, and the map shifts as levels climb: the low-50s versions sit in warp 185 systems like Beine and Hutch, while the level 59 and 60 versions pull out to warp 400 space in Garyf, Lasek and X6-094. Match your warp range to the level band your Explorer can beat before you commit to the trip.

Level Warp Systems
50–51 185 Beine, Hutch, Ver’saaj
52–53 185 Beine, Hutch, Tyra, Ver’saaj, Warren
54 230 Garyf, Hutch, Tyra, Ver’saaj, Warren
55 230 Garyf, Hutch, Tyra, Ver’saaj, Warren, X6-094
56 255 Garyf, Hutch, Lasek, Tyra, Warren, X6-094
57–58 320 Garyf, Lasek, Tyra, Warren, X6-094
59–60 400 Garyf, Lasek, X6-094

Rewards and what it drops

Kills pay out in ship parts and faction reputation. The parts are 5★ Broken Interceptor Parts, in amounts that climb sharply with level. The reputation side is a trade: each kill adds Romulan points and Klingon points while cutting your Federation standing, which is the standard pattern for faction hostiles. Grind it when you are pushing Romulan or Klingon reputation and the Federation hit fits your plan. Ship XP scales from 3,000 per kill at level 50 to 11,904 at level 60.

Worth knowing before you commit: most faction strategies pick a side by the mid-game, and hostiles like this are how you fund the reputations you keep. If your plan is Federation-first, skip the Spearhead and grind the equivalent ships in Romulan or Klingon space instead. If Federation is the reputation you have chosen to spend, the Spearhead pays both of the others on every kill, with the Romulan gain running about double the Klingon gain.

Drop What it is
5★ Broken Interceptor Parts Rare parts for high-level ship building and upgrades; 122–1,926 per kill
Federation Points Negative reputation; kills lower your Federation standing, by up to roughly 164,400 at the top end
Romulan Points Positive Romulan reputation; 12,000–87,680 per kill
Klingon Points Positive Klingon reputation; 6,000–43,840 per kill

Is the Baelosian Spearhead worth grinding?

Yes, as a steady mid-game faction grind. It covers a full eleven-level run in one compact region, pays 5★ Broken Interceptor Parts the whole way, and builds Romulan and Klingon reputation on every kill. The Federation penalty is the cost of doing business, so time the grind to your faction plan. Practical tip: the warp 185 systems at levels 50 to 53 are cheap to reach early, and you can follow the same hostile up the bands as your Explorer grows.
