As It Were is a Klingon story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you track down an unidentified assassin. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 105 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but warp 105 and a miner at roughly 1,969,977 power set the real bar. After the fight you decide whether to let the miner go or finish him off. Both paths pay 600 Klingon Credits and 260,000 Klingon Points, and finishing unlocks Truth Is Subjective.
As It Were objectives
The opening steps are shared:
- Find the assassin’s ship. Location: Asronal.
- Investigate the radiation spike. Location: Wololo.
- Defeat the miner. Location: Wololo. Enemy strength is roughly 1,969,977.
- Decide what to do with the miner.
The two options are Let him go and Finish him off. Both lead to the same last objective:
- Report your findings to Kronos. Location: Kronos.
So the choice changes only the reward. The route and the single fight are the same either way.

As It Were is available from warp 1 and needs warp 105 to complete. The route runs from Asronal to Wololo and ends at Kronos.
The recommended level is listed as 1. The miner at about 1.97 million power is the fight to prepare for.

Completing either path unlocks the next mission, Truth Is Subjective.
Which choice to pick
Finishing the miner off is the stronger pick for most players. It pays 1,530,000 Dilithium plus 16 100K Dilithium Tokens, and it avoids the Federation loss of 131,040 points that comes with letting him go.
Letting him go pays 370 Premium Recruit Tokens instead. That is the better path only if you want recruit tokens badly enough to take the extra Federation hit.
Both paths cost 349,440 Romulan Points, so check your faction reputation if Romulan standing matters to you.

Buried Secrets opens this storyline, and A Feeble Attempt comes directly before As It Were. All three missions above pay the same Klingon Credits, Klingon Points and Romulan loss.
Tips
Start collecting Federation Messages now. Truth Is Subjective, next in line, asks for 40 of them.
