Amateurs At Work is a level 65 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, picked up in Endron Delta. Ensign Poe needs a ride back to the USS Tsiolkovsky, and it turns out the whole bridge crew vanished while passing through a nebula, leaving the lower decks in charge. It needs warp 1250 to start and to complete, includes a 10-hostile fight and one boss, and pays a 12 Hr Peace Shield, 398,000 Raw Σ-Tritanium and Federation reputation.
Amateurs At Work objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Locate the USS Tsiolkovsky. Location: Fjorn.
- Defeat 10 hostiles of level 65 or higher.
- Investigate the last known location of the nebula. Location: Sh’Pord.
- Follow the warp trail. Location: Holst.
- Release the crew from the Klingons. Location: Holst.
When you reach the Tsiolkovsky, it is under attack and Ensign Lingxin is doing her best at the helm, so you drive off the attackers; those are the 10 hostiles. The ensigns explain that an electromagnetic outage in the nebula shut the ship down for a minute, and when the lights came back, the captain and bridge crew were gone.
Your scans of the nebula in Sh’Pord find no dimensional pockets, but they do find a warp trail from another ship. Poe remembers the outage looked too even to be natural. In Holst you uncover a cloaked Klingon scout, which attacks rather than answer questions; it is listed at about 7.5 billion strength. Once it is disabled, Captain Barris and the bridge crew take control of it. The Klingons had kidnapped them for data on Federation outposts.

The mission is picked up in Endron Delta and visits Fjorn, Sh’Pord and Holst. Both the start and the finish need warp 1250, and the recommended level is 65.

Tips
Amateurs At Work is the only Endron Delta mission with no donation, which makes it the cheapest of the three to run.
The 10 hostiles come first, and any of level 65 or higher count. The Klingon scout at about 7.5 billion strength is the one named fight, at the very end, after two travel steps that give you time to repair.
Few missions at this level pay a Peace Shield at all; Piece by Piece pays an 8 Hr one and Learned Fears a 4 Hr one, so the 12 Hr shield here is the longest of them. The Σ-Tritanium is explained in the Σ resources guide.
