Zed Alpha is a level 31 Neutral star system in Star Trek Fleet Command, and you need warp 22 to reach it. It is a locked Latinum system: getting in costs 1 Epic Latinum Transwarp Cell. Inside there is one large Raw Latinum node that mines at 95 per hour, plus level 31 Assimilated Ferengi Miners that drop 9,000 to 11,001 Raw Latinum per kill. There are no missions and no player housing in Zed Alpha.

Epic Latinum Transwarp Cell: how to enter Zed Alpha
The Epic Latinum Transwarp Cell is used to travel to locked systems with rich deposits of Raw Latinum. You get it from the special Borg refinery while you own a Tier 7 to 9 Vi’dar, so Zed Alpha opens up once your Vi’dar reaches tier 7. Entry costs one cell.
Zed Alpha is the top system of three that work this way. All three sit at warp 22, and each has the same single Raw Latinum node. The cell grade and the level of the Assimilated Ferengi Miner are what change.
| System | Level | Cell needed | Vi’dar tier for the cell | Assimilated Ferengi Miner drop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yoria-3 | 25 | Uncommon Latinum Transwarp Cell | 1 to 3 | 1,125 to 1,376 Raw Latinum |
| Torra Sedra | 28 | Rare Latinum Transwarp Cell | 4 to 6 | 4,500 to 5,501 Raw Latinum |
| Zed Alpha | 31 | Epic Latinum Transwarp Cell | 7 to 9 | 9,000 to 11,001 Raw Latinum |
Mining in Zed Alpha
| Resource | Nodes | Base rate per hour | Node size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw Latinum | 1 | 95 | 470,000 |
Raw Latinum is refined into Latinum, which buys rare items and speeds up construction. The open Latinum systems between levels 22 and 34 split their Raw Latinum across eight smaller nodes of 82,000 to 350,000, most of them mining at 32 to 46 per hour. Zed Alpha’s single node is larger than any of those and mines faster.
Assimilated Ferengi Miner in Zed Alpha
The only hostile in Zed Alpha is the Assimilated Ferengi Miner, a Borg-controlled Survey ship.
| Level | Hull | Strength | Drop per kill |
|---|---|---|---|
| 31 | Survey | 4,979,758 | 9,000 to 11,001 Raw Latinum |
Hunting the miners is often faster than mining the node. A single kill drops up to 11,001 Raw Latinum, more than the node produces in 115 hours at its base rate.
Planets and housing in Zed Alpha
Zed Alpha has no named planets. This system doesn’t have any housing, so no player stations sit here.

Is Zed Alpha worth the trip?
If you already own a Vi’dar at tier 7 or higher, yes. Zed Alpha is the richest of the three locked Latinum systems: its miners pay about double what Torra Sedra’s do, and the node is the same 470,000 size. Without a tier 7 Vi’dar you cannot get Epic cells, so start with Yoria-3 or Torra Sedra instead.
