What We Become is part of the Dalen storyline in Star Trek Fleet Command, where you find Dalen’s signal and bring him home. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 22 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. There are no fights. You investigate the signal in Panak, approach Dalen’s ship, and return to your station. The reward is two One of Eleven shards, and finishing it unlocks The Fading Light. For a no-combat mission, that is a good shard payout.

What We Become objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate the signal. Location: Panak.
  • Approach Dalen’s ship. Location: Panak.
  • Bring Dalen back to your Station.

The first two steps are in Panak. You follow the signal, then approach Dalen’s ship. The last step brings Dalen home, and the mission completes when you dock.

No hostile is listed and nothing is donated.

Where and what warp

The mission is available from warp 1 and needs warp 22 to complete, the range needed to reach Panak, a neutral system.

The recommended level is listed as 1. Warp 22 is the only real requirement.

What We Become rewards

The mission pays two One of Eleven shards. Completing it also unlocks the next mission in the storyline, The Fading Light.

What We Become in the Dalen storyline

The missions around What We Become mix fights, donations and travel. Current game data:

Mission Warp to complete Main effort Rewards
The Target 18 Investigate a signal in Alta and defeat a Klingon ship of about 204,300 210 3★ Interceptor Parts
What We Become 22 Find Dalen in Panak and bring him home; no fights 2 One of Eleven shards
The Fading Light 18 Meet a cybernetics expert in Sufiday, donate 750,000 Tritanium, defeat 15 hostiles of level 25 or higher 40 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas

What We Become needs the most warp of the three, but it is the only one without a fight or a donation. The Fading Light, next in line, asks for 750,000 Tritanium, so it is worth saving up while you run this one.

Later in the same storyline, To Err is Human pays one more One of Eleven shard and The Fate of the Broken pays two, so the shards build up if you follow the story through.

Tips

Send any ship with the range. With no combat, a survey or mining ship that reaches warp 22 can finish the mission and leave your combat ships free.

Start stockpiling Tritanium. The 750,000 Tritanium donation in The Fading Light is the next hurdle, and Futile Endeavor after that pays 187,000 Tritanium back.

Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
