Visions of Genius III is the last Visions of Genius mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 52. You help Egel finish his design, and when thieves strike you choose between saving Egel and retrieving the stolen designs. It starts at warp 1 after Visions of Genius II and needs warp 230. Saving Egel pays 500 Klingon Recruit Tokens; chasing the thief pays two reward bundles with speed ups. Both paths include a fight at over 22 million strength.
Visions of Genius III objectives
Two shared objectives come first:

Save Egel
- Defeat the thugs. Location: ghuH. Enemy strength around 22,170,271.
Rewards for this path: 500 Klingon Recruit Tokens, 18,750,000 Dilithium, 800 Klingon Credits, 1,200,000 Klingon Points, -2,246,400 Romulan Points.
Retrieve the designs
- Track down the thief. Location: Belmont.
- Defeat K’thal. Location: Belmont. Enemy strength around 22,599,654.
This path pays out twice, once for each step. Tracking down the thief pays 150 15 Hour Speed Ups, 18,750,000 Dilithium, 800 Klingon Credits, 1,200,000 Klingon Points and -2,246,400 Romulan Points. Defeating K’thal pays 250 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups and the same Dilithium, credits and points again.

No pickup system is listed. Visions of Genius III appears at warp 1 once Part II is done, and warp 230 covers both paths.
The recommended level is 52. Both fights sit above 22 million strength, the hardest combat in the Visions of Genius story.

Which path to pick
Retrieving the designs pays roughly double: twice the Dilithium, credits and Klingon Points, plus speed ups. It costs one extra step and a slightly harder fight, and twice the Romulan Points loss. Saving Egel is the better pick only if you want the 500 Klingon Recruit Tokens or need to limit your Romulan reputation loss.
Tips
