Vaults is a level 16 station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that asks you to build the Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium Vaults. It needs only warp 1 to start and to finish, and the reward is 30,000 Parsteel. Finishing it unlocks the next mission, In Position. There is no fight and no travel, just three constructions, and the vaults are worth having for their own sake.
Vaults objectives
The story line reads: build the Parsteel Vault to protect your precious resources. There are three objectives and no choice split:
Each objective clears when the matching building is finished on your station. No system is named, no hostile is listed and nothing is donated.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start, warp 1 to complete, and no pickup system. The whole mission happens on your station.
The recommended level is 16. The three constructions are the only gate, so the mission is done as soon as your build queue gets through them.
What the vaults do
All three vaults unlock through the Unlock Vaults research rather than an Operations level, so check that research is done if the construct option is missing. Each vault protects its stored resource from enemy attacks: the Parsteel Vault covers Parsteel, the Tritanium Vault covers Tritanium, and the Dilithium Vault covers Dilithium. Upgrading a vault adds more protection.
Vaults rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 30,000 |
Completing the mission also unlocks In Position.
Where Vaults sits in the story
| Mission | Recommended level | Warp to complete | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Triple Triad | 16 | 1 | 35,000 Parsteel |
| Vaults | 16 | 1 | 30,000 Parsteel |
| In Position | 17 | 13 | 15,000 Parsteel, 50 2★ Survey Parts, 5,000 Officer XP |
Triple Triad is the fight that comes before it, three fugitives in Cita Laga and Deneva. Vaults is the station break in between, and In Position takes you back out to warp 13.
Tips
Queue the three vaults back to back. The objectives clear in order, so start with the Parsteel Vault and keep the builder busy.
The reward is Parsteel, and so is most of what you spend on early buildings, so the 30,000 goes straight back into your next upgrade.
The warehouses and vaults page explains how the two storage buildings differ.
More station and story missions by level are on the mission guide.
