Valley of Death is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that starts with a mysterious signal in Umxheli. It opens at warp 1 but needs warp 70 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1; warp 70 and a mysterious ship at roughly 1.08 million strength are the real bar. The reward is 150 4★ Uncommon Explorer Parts, a good haul for anyone working on an Explorer at that stage of the game.
Valley of Death objectives
There are four objectives and no choice split:
- Investigate the mysterious signal. Location: Umxheli.
- Fight back against the mysterious ship. Location: Umxheli. Enemy strength is roughly 1,075,836.
- Try to escape from the ship. Location: Mina.
- Return to your Station.
The signal leads you to Umxheli, where a mysterious ship attacks. After you fight back, the mission has you escape to Mina and then return to your station.
Where and what warp
No pickup system is listed. The mission is available from warp 1, but completing it needs warp 70 for the trips to Umxheli and Mina.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. That figure means little for a warp 70 mission with a 1.08 million strength fight, so plan around those two numbers instead.
Valley of Death rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 4★ Uncommon Explorer Parts | 150 |
Completing it unlocks the next mission, Unstoppable.
Breaking down the mission
The mysterious ship is the only fight, and it sits early in the mission. Everything after it is travel: the escape to Mina and the trip home.
That shape means the ship you bring has to handle both parts. It needs to beat a roughly 1.08 million strength enemy, then still make the warp 70 run to Mina. A ship that wins the fight but lacks the range will stall on the escape step.
The reward is a single line of ship parts, 150 4★ Uncommon Explorer Parts. For players building up an Explorer this is useful. For anyone else, the value is mostly in moving the story on to Unstoppable.
How it compares with other missions at this warp
Enemies around a million strength show up in several late story missions. Fragments of the Past has a Starfleet Guard at about 910,378, and the Klingon Hunter in Wrong Foot Forward and Bloodthirst is about 912,580. The mysterious ship here is a step above both, though well short of the multi-million enemies in missions such as Glory of Kahless.
Tips
Repair before you engage in Umxheli. The fight comes right after the investigation, and a damaged ship will struggle against 1.08 million strength.
Check your warp before accepting. Warp 70 is the requirement to finish, and Mina is part of the route.
If you are not building an Explorer, run this mission for the story and the unlock rather than the parts.
Previous mission: Last Stand. Next mission: Unstoppable. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
