Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5

Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5 is an early station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with one objective: raise Drydock A to level 5. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 380 Tritanium and six 1 Minute Repair Speed Ups, and finishing it unlocks Upgrade Shipyard: Level 8. Level 5 is also where the drydock’s repair speed bonus switches on, which makes this a worthwhile early upgrade.

Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5 objectives

The story line explains the point: upgrade your drydock to reduce repair times and costs for the ship it holds. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5.

No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes when Drydock A reaches level 5.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and to complete, and no pickup system. The recommended level is listed as 1. The upgrade and its requirements are the only gate.

Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5 rewards

Reward Amount
Tritanium 380
1 Minute Repair Speed Up 6

Completing the mission also unlocks the next station mission, Upgrade Shipyard: Level 8.

What Drydock A level 5 costs and gives

Drydock A level Cost Build time Requirements
5 2,500 Parsteel 11 minutes Operations 5, Drydock B 4
6 4,250 Parsteel 18 minutes Operations 6

Each drydock has two bonuses for the ship assigned to it. Repair Cost Efficiency starts at level 2 and is 8% at level 5. Repair Speed Bonus starts at level 5 itself, at 10%, and rises to 20% at level 10.

That makes level 5 the first level where the ship in Drydock A repairs faster, as well as more cheaply. Costs for the other drydocks are similar to Drydock A’s but not identical at every level.

How it compares with other drydock missions

Mission Tritanium Repair speed ups
Upgrade Drydock A to Level 5 380 6 × 1 Minute
Upgrade Drydock C to Level 5 800 2 × 5 Minute
Upgrade Drydock A Level 7 1,600 none
Upgrade Drydock A to Level 20 18,500 2 × 10 Minute

Tips

Get Drydock B to level 4 first. It is a requirement for Drydock A 5, so if the upgrade is blocked, that is the likely reason.

Plan ahead for level 7, which adds a Tritanium cost for the first time: 50 Tritanium and 4,500 Parsteel, with Operations 7 as the requirement.

Keep your main combat ship in Drydock A. The repair speed bonus only helps the ship assigned to that drydock, so put the ship that takes the most damage there.

The mission before this one is Upgrade R&D Department to Level 8, and the next is Upgrade Shipyard: Level 8. All eight drydocks are covered on the drydocks page.
