Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry

The Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry is a Mirror Universe hostile that spawns as a single level 48 Interceptor at warp 125. You find it in Mirror Maluria, deep in Mirror Universe space, where it holds the system as a heavy guardian. It opens combat by hull-breaching your ship and then fires mixed energy and kinetic volleys every round. Bring an Explorer to counter its Interceptor hull and end the fight quickly.

How to beat the Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry

The Ω-Sentry only appears as an Interceptor, so bring an Explorer. In STFC’s combat triangle, Explorers counter Interceptors, and because this hostile never swaps hull class, there is nothing to adjust between kills once you have the right ship. You also need a ship rated for warp 125 to reach its system, so a mid-to-late game Explorer is the natural pick.

For crew, seat a captain that raises weapon damage against hostiles, then fill the remaining seats with officers that add damage or survivability. If level 48 is a stretch for you, the classic cadet crew of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura still works as a low-cost starter against single hostiles. For current best-in-slot picks, check the Officer Tier List. Crews move with the meta, so treat any named lineup as a starting point rather than a permanent answer.

Two ship abilities shape the fight. Deadlock hull-breaches your ship at the start of combat and holds that breach for the whole battle. That sets up its second ability, Dismantlement / Photophobia, which triggers against a hull-breached target: at the start of each round it raises its own weapon damage by 20% and its Isolytic Damage by 10% for that round. Because Deadlock keeps you breached from the opening, the Ω-Sentry effectively fights at boosted output every round, and the Isolytic portion slips past part of your mitigation. Lean on hull and defense over shield mitigation, and aim to close the fight fast rather than trade blows for long.

Where to find the Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry

The Ω-Sentry does not roam widely. It sits at a single level, 48, in Mirror Maluria, a warp 125 system deep in Mirror Universe space. You need a ship rated for that warp before you can engage, which gates this target to players who have pushed into the higher-warp map. There is only the one spawn level, so once you can reach Mirror Maluria you have seen everything this hostile offers. Because it is a fixed single-level target, you can slot it into a farming route without hunting across multiple systems.

Rewards and what it drops

The dependable reward here is ship experience. Each kill gives 2,501 ship XP, which makes the Ω-Sentry a decent stop if you are leveling the Explorer you bring to fight it. Beyond XP, it can drop Raw Omega-Trellium, but that comes as an occasional edge drop rather than a guaranteed reward, so do not treat this hostile as a steady Trellium source. If you need that material in volume, farm it where it drops reliably and take any from the Ω-Sentry as a bonus.

Drop What it is
Raw Omega-Trellium A raw late-game refinery material you process before using it in higher-tier upgrades. Appears here only as an occasional drop.
Ship XP (2,501 per kill) Experience that levels the ship you are fighting with.

Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry stats

Stats vary by hull variant and climb steeply with level, but this hostile only appears at level 48, so the numbers below are fixed.

Level Total strength Hull HP Shield HP Attack Defense Ship XP
48 163,218,454 189,141,538 126,094,358 3,708,976 1,891,530 2,501

Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry firing pattern

The Ω-Sentry fires four weapons every round: two energy weapons and two kinetic. The energy pair hits hardest and carries a wide damage range, so time your repairs and mitigation for its energy volleys. The kinetic pair sits in a much tighter damage band, so its output is steadier and easier to plan around, while the energy weapons are the swingy threat that can spike a round. Both weapon types can crit for 1.5x on a 10% chance.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energy 2 258,376–702,108 Every round 10% (1.5x)
Kinetic 2 129,188–140,422 Every round 10% (1.5x)

The Mirror Universe in Star Trek

The Mirror Universe is a parallel reality first seen in the original series episode “Mirror, Mirror,” where a transporter accident drops Kirk into a savage version of his own galaxy ruled by the Terran Empire. Later shows, from Deep Space Nine to Discovery, returned to it and filled in its factions, including darker counterparts of the Romulans. In that timeline the Romulans keep their cunning and ambition but wear it openly, fighting for standing in a galaxy where conquest is the default. The Ω-Sentry fits that mold: a guardian ship built to hold ground and punish anyone who tests it, rather than to talk.

Is the Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry worth grinding?

It earns a visit mainly for ship XP if you already field a warp 125 Explorer, and much less as a resource farm, since the Raw Omega-Trellium drop is unreliable. Bring an Explorer to exploit its Interceptor hull, match warp 125, and plan for a short fight given the hull-breach pressure it applies from the first round. If you are running an Explorer through the mid-warp map anyway, it is a clean, predictable kill to fold into that loop. For other Mirror Universe targets, see the Mirror Universe hostiles hub.
