Through the Ranks is one of the first missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. It is recommended for level 2, runs entirely at warp 1 and has a single objective: use Officer XP to raise one of your officers to level 2. The reward is 40 Tritanium and 100 Officer XP. It takes a few seconds and teaches you where officer levelling lives.
Through the Ranks objectives
There is one objective and no choice split:
- Improve an Officer to Level 2 with Officer XP.
No system is named and there is nothing to fight. The mission clears as soon as any officer reaches level 2 through Officer XP. The mission before it, Crewing Up, pays 70 Officer XP, so you should already have some to spend.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. Everything happens on your officer screen, and your ship does not need to leave the Station.
The recommended level is 2.

Tips
Level the officer you plan to keep in your captain seat, since the Officer XP is spent either way. The 100 Officer XP reward then goes straight toward the next level.
