There Is Always A Price

There Is Always A Price is an early Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you help assassinate a corrupt Yridian trader, Mol Derron. It is recommended for level 11 and needs warp 5 to start and complete. You can pick it up in any of eight systems, then take Hina to Yridia, destroy Mol Derron’s ship and bring him to Oxoss in Fostaa. The reward is 800 Parsteel and 1 Cargo Crate. It is a short job with one easy fight.

There Is Always A Price objectives

There are three objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:

  • Take Hina to Yridia. Location: Yridia.
  • Destroy Mol Derron’s ship. Location: Yridia. Enemy strength is about 1,927.
  • Bring Mol Derron to Oxoss. Location: Fostaa.

Hina is your passenger for the first leg. Once you reach Yridia, Mol Derron’s ship is the target, and after the fight you deliver him to Oxoss, a location in the Fostaa system.

Where and what warp

The mission is offered in eight systems: Eravan, Eral, Worhundelja, Volta, Jinnia, Palimer, Dyrr and Kito. It needs warp 5 to start and warp 5 to complete. Yridia and Fostaa are the only systems the objectives use.

The recommended level is 11. Mol Derron’s ship is listed at about 1,927 strength, which is modest for that level.

There Is Always A Price rewards

Reward Amount

The mission does not unlock a follow-up.

Other missions from the same systems

The same pickup systems offer a few more short jobs at warp 5, and each of them also pays a Cargo Crate:

Mission Recommended level What you do Rewards
Nest Egg 9 Mine 1,500 Parsteel 3 K’Bisch shards, 1 Cargo Crate
Fight Fire With Fire 9 Destroy 10 hostiles of level 8 or higher 4,000 Parsteel, 1 Cargo Crate
Blood From a Stone 10 Donate 300 Tritanium to a stranded Suliban 260 Parsteel, 1 Cargo Crate
There Is Always A Price 11 Ferry Hina, destroy Mol Derron’s ship, deliver him to Oxoss 800 Parsteel, 1 Cargo Crate

There Is Always A Price has the highest recommended level of the four, and it is the only one with a named enemy ship. Fight Fire With Fire pays more Parsteel, but it takes ten kills instead of one.

Tips

Run it alongside the other missions from these systems. They share the same pickup systems and the same warp 5 range, so they fit into the same stretch of play.

Mol Derron’s ship is an easy target at about 1,927 strength. Any combat ship near level 11 can handle it without a repair stop.

Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
