The Vision of Discontent is a story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you work with the Vulcan Ambassador to prevent a war with Romulus. The game lists a recommended level of 1, it starts at warp 1, and it needs warp 18 to complete. The route runs from Vulcan to Fastolf and on to Hann, with a 400,000 Tritanium repair job and a fight against a Romulan survivor at roughly 104,274 strength. The Vision of Discontent objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with the Vulcan Ambassador. Location: Vulcan.
- Investigate reports of a battle. Location: Fastolf.
- Repair the Vulcan vessel with 400,000 Tritanium.
- Defeat the Romulan survivor. Location: Fastolf. Enemy strength is roughly 104,274.
- Return the Ambassador to Federation space. Location: Hann.
After meeting the Ambassador in Vulcan, you head to Fastolf to look into reports of a battle. There you pay to repair the damaged Vulcan vessel, then deal with the Romulan survivor still in the system. The last step takes the Ambassador back to Federation space at Hann.

No pickup system is listed. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete. It uses three systems: Vulcan, Fastolf and Hann.
The recommended level is 1. The Tritanium cost and the Romulan survivor at roughly 104,274 strength are what actually gate the mission.

The mission pays 31 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas. Completing it also unlocks the next mission, Through the Valley.

The fight here is much lighter than either path in Legacies, but this mission asks for 400,000 Tritanium in return. The reward is also a higher grade of refined gas, Uncommon rather than Common.
Tips
Have 400,000 Tritanium ready before you reach Fastolf. The repair comes straight after the investigation step and before the fight, so having the Tritanium on hand keeps the Fastolf leg in one visit.
A modest combat ship is enough. The Romulan survivor at roughly 104,274 strength is the only enemy, and it is well below the fights in Legacies.
Plan the route across three systems. The mission starts in Vulcan and ends in Hann, with the Fastolf stop in between, so there is no return to your Station at the end. The 31 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas goes toward upgrades that call for refined gas, which is slow to produce in quantity. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
