The Empire Calls I

The Empire Calls I opens a five-part KSG storyline in Star Trek Fleet Command. A herald from the Klingon High Council arrives with an ultimatum: the exiled scientists of the KSG must return to Klingon space within a week to face trial for dishonor, or their stations and colonies will be bombarded. You stand with the KSG as their intermediary. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the mission needs warp 400 to start and to complete, and the attack option is a fight at about 32.4 million strength, so it is late-game content. Both choices pay the same rewards.

The Empire Calls I objectives

There is one shared step, then a choice:

  • Meet with the Empire’s agent. Location: tIn jIb.
  • Decide how to respond to the agent (choice split, see below).

The KSG first assume the Klingon signature on their sensors is a fault. When the herald arrives, he calls them a stain on Klingon honor and tears up the terms of their exile. Jaral, one of the KSG, nearly fires on him before being talked down.

Path 1: let him leave

  • Report to KSG security. Location: tIn jIb.
  • Ensure that the lab is protected. Location: Santesso.

Path 2: attack him

  • Defeat the agent. Location: tIn jIb. Enemy strength about 32.4 million.
  • Report to KSG security. Location: tIn jIb.
  • Ensure that the lab is protected. Location: Santesso.

On either path the KSG fear for their secure labs, check them, and find them safe for now. They admit they cannot hope to hold off the full might of the Empire and need another way.

Where and what warp

You pick up the mission in juH’maqoch, and both the start and the finish need warp 400. The objectives are in tIn jIb and Santesso. The listed recommended level is 1; warp 400 is the real requirement, plus a 32.4 million strength fight if you choose to attack.

The Empire Calls I rewards

Both paths pay exactly the same:

Reward Amount
5★ Uncommon Interceptor Parts 4
KSG Datapad 1
Klingon Credits 800
Klingon Points 3,600,000
Romulan Points -7,387,200

The Romulan Points line is a loss. Completing the mission unlocks The Empire Calls II.

Tips

Let him leave unless you want the fight. The rewards are identical, and Path 1 skips a 32.4 million strength battle.

Think about your Romulan standing. The mission takes away more than 7.3 million Romulan Points while adding 3.6 million Klingon Points, on either path. The faction reputation page explains how these standings work, and your Klingon standing is the one that goes up.

Every mission by level is on the mission guide.
