Both parts are recommended for level 77; Part 1 needs warp 4,500 to complete and Part 2 needs 5,000. The project is a new Kobayashi Maru simulation. After talking to Ondi you meet a dealer in Zulather, pay a Σ-Dilithium donation, bring the disk back to the Forsaken and run the scenario. Inside it you face the classic choice: abandon the ship or confront the Klingons.

Tips for completing Starting from Scratch
The Kobayashi Maru choice does not change anything practical. Both answers lead to the same fight against Ondi’s ship at about 125 trillion strength and pay the same rewards, so pick whichever answer you like.
The only other fight is the guard ship in Ycarsur in Part 1, at about 128 trillion. Both fights are far lighter than the roughly 300 to 570 trillion fights common in the level 78 to 80 chains.
Have 60k Σ-Dilithium ready for the dealer in Part 2. Part 1 can be picked up at warp 4,500, but Part 2 goes out to warp 5,000, so check your range before you start. The Σ resources guide covers Σ-Dilithium.

Are the Starting from Scratch rewards worth it?
Yes, mainly for the 6,050,000 7★ Raw Crystal in Part 2. The rest is smaller: 122,000 Σ-Tritanium, 140,000 7★ Broken Interceptor Parts, 4 1 Day Assignment Speed Ups, 3,500 Σ-Federation Credits and 2 Gravimetric Data.
