Retaliation is a Romulan storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you defend a Corvallen rebel base. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but you need warp 64 to finish it and the first enemy sits at roughly 4.34 million strength, so treat those two numbers as the real entry bar. The fighting happens in Livi and the mission ends with an evacuation to Sileo. It pays 700 each of 4★ Common Explorer and Interceptor Parts plus 216,000 Romulan Points.
Retaliation objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split, so every player follows the same path:
- Get to the rebel base. Location: Livi.
- Defeat the Corvallen Loyalist Ship. Location: Livi. Enemy strength is roughly 4,339,888.
- Defeat the Gladius. Location: Livi. Enemy strength is roughly 1,969,977.
- Evacuate from the rebel base. Location: Sileo.
- Return to your Station.
The first three steps all happen in Livi. You arrive at the rebel base, then fight two ships back to back. The Corvallen Loyalist Ship is the harder of the pair by a wide margin, at more than twice the strength of the Gladius that follows it. Once both are down, the evacuation moves you to Sileo, and the last step sends you home.
Where and what warp
Retaliation has no pickup system and becomes available at warp 1, so it can appear in your log well before you can run it. Completing it takes warp 64, which is the range needed for Sileo. Livi and Sileo are the only two named systems.
The recommended level shows as 1. That number does not tell you much here. A ship that can reach warp 64 and beat a 4.34 million strength target is the real requirement.
Retaliation rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 4★ Common Explorer Parts | 700 |
| 4★ Common Interceptor Parts | 700 |
| Romulan Credits | 600 |
| Romulan Points | 216,000 |
| Federation Points | -212,544 |
The negative Federation Points line means finishing the mission lowers your Federation standing by 212,544 while it raises your Romulan standing. Completing Retaliation also unlocks the next mission in the chain.
Retaliation and its neighbours
Retaliation sits in the middle of a run of missions whose warp creeps upward with each step. Current game data for the missions on either side:
| Mission | Warp to complete | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Where Do We Go From Here? | 56 | 2,558,000 Dilithium, 600 Romulan Credits, 216,000 Romulan Points |
| Retaliation | 64 | 700 Explorer Parts, 700 Interceptor Parts, 600 Romulan Credits, 216,000 Romulan Points |
| A Gift from the Shadows | 70 | 80 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore, 18 8 Hour Speed Up |
The previous mission pays in Dilithium, and this one switches to ship parts. The next one needs warp 70, so if your ship barely reaches Sileo, plan for that jump before you move on.
Tips
Bring your strongest combat ship. The Corvallen Loyalist Ship at around 4.34 million is the fight that decides whether you finish, and it comes straight after you arrive in Livi with no warm-up target in between.
Repair between the two fights if you need to. The Gladius is much weaker at about 1.97 million, but taking it on with a badly damaged hull after the Loyalist fight is a common way to lose a ship for no reason.
Think about the faction swing before you commit. If you are building Federation reputation, the 212,544 point loss matters, and the earlier and later missions in this line also pay Romulan Points while costing standing elsewhere.
The 4★ Common Explorer and Interceptor Parts are the practical payout. Put them toward whichever of those two hull types you are upgrading. More missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
