Questionable Motives is a main storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you track down a mercenary company. You buy information at a Bounty Hunter base in Wololo for 950,000 Dilithium, follow it to Imada, and fight two Vulcan ships there before heading home. It needs warp 105 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 34 4★ Rare Refined Ore and 120 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore, and it unlocks With Friends Like These.
Questionable Motives objectives
Six objectives, no choice split:
- Find the Bounty Hunter base. Location: Wololo.
- Donate 950,000 Dilithium for information.
- Follow the directions to Imada. Location: Imada.
- Defeat the Vulcans. Location: Imada (enemy strength about 912,580).
- Defeat the Vulcans. Location: Imada (enemy strength about 1,075,836).
- Return to your Station.
The Bounty Hunter base in Wololo sells you the lead, and the directions take you to Imada. There are two separate Vulcan fights in Imada, back to back, and the second is the stronger one at about 1.08 million. The mission closes when you get home.
Where and what warp
There is no pickup system. Questionable Motives starts at warp 1 after Old Friends and needs warp 105 to complete. The recommended level is listed as 1, but the second Vulcan fight at about 1.08 million strength and the warp 105 range set the real bar.
Questionable Motives rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 4★ Rare Refined Ore | 34 |
| 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore | 120 |
Completing it also unlocks the next main storyline mission.

This stretch of the story follows Toryn: Old Friends looks for him, and With Friends Like These goes after the Vulcans hunting him. Old Friends pays 2,430,000 Dilithium, which more than covers the 950,000 you donate here.
Tips
Keep 950,000 Dilithium ready before you start. The donation is the second step, and nothing else moves until it is paid.
Repair between the two Vulcan fights. They are back to back in Imada, and the second is about 163,000 strength stronger than the first.
The 4★ refined ore is the whole reward, so this mission is most useful if ore is holding up your next upgrades. For the order of story missions see the main storyline missions, and the mission guide lists every mission by level.
