Protection is a level 14 Orion Syndicate job in Star Trek Fleet Command. A Rigellian dignitary is late on his loan repayments, and you are sent to remind him: you go to Rigel VII and bring Slavart back to Orion Prime. It is picked up in Orion, needs warp 8 to start and warp 10 to complete, and has no fight. The reward is 20 Recruit Tokens and an Orion Manifest.

Protection objectives

Two objectives across two systems, no choice split:

  • Go to Rigel VII. Location: Rigel.
  • Transport Slavart to Orion Prime. Location: Orion.

You fly out to Rigel VII, then transport Slavart to Orion Prime. No hostile is listed at either step.

Where and what warp

Protection is picked up in Orion at warp 8. The trip to Rigel pushes the requirement to warp 10, so check your range before you accept it. The recommended level is 14.

Protection rewards

Reward Amount
Recruit Token 20
Orion Manifest 1

Protection does not unlock another mission.

Orion Manifests are a common reward at this stage. Besides the Orion jobs below, several missions picked up in Nausicaa pay one, including A Bad Deal, Paid Debts and Sonic Boom, and every step of the Nausicaan storyline that ends with Retribution pays one too. If you are collecting them, Protection is one of the quickest, with two stops and no fight.

Other Orion Syndicate jobs picked up in Orion

Orion offers several other jobs around the same level, and most of them also pay an Orion Manifest:

Mission Level Warp to complete Rewards
Protection 14 10 20 Recruit Token, 1 Orion Manifest
Bombardment 12 11 6,000 Parsteel, 1 Orion Manifest
Unwanted Gift 12 8 4,000 Parsteel, 1 Orion Manifest
Mule 13 8 1,700 Parsteel, 1 Orion Manifest
Fugitive 14 11 20 Recruit Token, 1 Orion Manifest

Fugitive is the closest match: the same level, the same reward, and another transport job, this time taking a Yridian information dealer to Cita Laga. Detainment is also picked up in Orion at level 12.

Tips

Send a non-combat ship. There is nothing to fight on the route, so any ship with warp 10 can make the trip.

Stack the Orion jobs. They are all picked up in the same system and sit between warp 8 and warp 11, so one visit to Orion can start several of them. The mission guide lists every mission by level.
