Sonic Boom is a level 15 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you help Thrak with an important tool. You pick it up in Nausicaa, it needs warp 8 to start and to complete, and every objective is in the same system. There is no fight; the only cost is 1,000 Tritanium. The reward is 6,500 Parsteel, 1,250 Tritanium and an Orion Manifest, so you get back more Tritanium than you spend. It is an easy mission to clear while you are in Nausicaa.
Sonic Boom objectives
The story line reads: Thrak needs help with an important tool, find him and assist. There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Find Thrak. Location: Nausicaa.
- Help Thrak by giving him 1,000 Tritanium.
- Deliver the Ultrasonic Generator to Borvang. Location: Nausicaa.
You find Thrak, give him the Tritanium, and then deliver the Ultrasonic Generator to Borvang. All of it happens in the Nausicaa system, and no hostile is listed.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Nausicaa, and the mission needs warp 8 to start and to complete. Once you are there, you do not need to go anywhere else.
The recommended level is 15. With no combat, the only requirements are the warp 8 range and 1,000 Tritanium.
Sonic Boom rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 6,500 |
| Tritanium | 1,250 |
| Orion Manifest | 1 |
No next mission is listed as unlocked by Sonic Boom.
Cost against reward
You give Thrak 1,000 Tritanium and get 1,250 back, a net gain of 250, plus 6,500 Parsteel and the Orion Manifest. There is no way to lose on the trade.
Other Nausicaa missions
Sore Loser is another mission picked up in Nausicaa at the same warp 8. It is recommended one level lower, at 13, and also pays an Orion Manifest, but it adds a fight against a human cheater in Clytomenes and a choice at the end.
| Mission | Recommended level | Fight | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sore Loser | 13 | About 3,760 strength in Clytomenes | 5,000 Parsteel, 500 Tritanium and an Orion Manifest, or 3,000 Parsteel, 30 Premium Recruit Tokens and an Orion Manifest |
| Sonic Boom | 15 | None | 6,500 Parsteel, 1,250 Tritanium, 1 Orion Manifest |
Tips
Bring 1,000 Tritanium with you. The donation is the second step, and without it you cannot reach the delivery.
Any ship with warp 8 will do, so send whatever is free. If you are running Sore Loser as well, both start in Nausicaa, so you can pick them up together. Other missions around this level are on the mission guide.
