Power Monger is a level 53 main storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you look for a way to disrupt a Cardassian jammer. The single objective is research: complete 5★ Battleship Shield Piercing. It needs only warp 1 and has no fight. The reward is large, at 3,825,000,000 Parsteel, 190 three-hour speed ups and 2,500 Ship XP, and finishing it unlocks What They Cannot Hold.

Power Monger objectives

One objective, no choice split:

  • Complete 5★ Battleship Shield Piercing Research.

No system is named and no hostile is listed. The mission completes when the research finishes, so it depends entirely on your research progress rather than on any ship.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to finish, with no pickup system. The recommended level is 53. The research itself is the gate: if you have not reached 5★ Battleship Shield Piercing yet, the mission will wait until you do. The research guide covers the research trees.

Power Monger rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 3,825,000,000
3 Hour Speed Up 190
Ship XP 2,500

The 190 three-hour speed ups add up to 570 hours, almost 24 days. Completing Power Monger also unlocks the next main storyline mission.

Power Monger and the missions around it

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Rewards
Undisclosed 53 230 160 15 Minute Repair Speed Up, 5,865,000,000 Parsteel, 2,500 Ship XP
Power Monger 53 1 190 3 Hour Speed Up, 3,825,000,000 Parsteel, 2,500 Ship XP
What They Cannot Hold 53 185 1 Data shard, 9,000,000 Dilithium, 4,590,000,000 Parsteel

Undisclosed has you meet a concerned scientist at warp 230, and What They Cannot Hold sends you to defend VESTA from a Cardassian assault at warp 185. Power Monger sits between them as a research step with no travel at all. What They Cannot Hold also pays a Data shard.

Tips

Check your research queue as soon as you reach this part of the storyline. If 5★ Battleship Shield Piercing is already under way, the mission is only as far off as that timer.

The speed ups arrive only after the research is done, so they help with whatever you research or build next rather than with this objective. For the order of story missions see the main storyline missions, and the mission guide lists every mission by level.
