Parsteel Generator B Level 40

Parsteel Generator B Level 40 is a base milestone mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that closes itself the moment your second Parsteel Generator finishes its level 40 upgrade. There is no travel, no target and no combat in it. Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, and the payout is 70 1M Parsteel Tokens.

Parsteel Generator B Level 40 objectives

One objective, and the upgrade is all of it.

  • Upgrade to Parsteel Generator B Level 40. No system is attached to this step. The work happens in your base.

Nothing branches here. There is no choice split, no enemy and no second step waiting behind the first. The mission watches the building and pays out when the level 40 upgrade lands, so you never pick it up from an officer and never hand it in.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. Both sit at the floor because the objective has no destination attached, so warp range never gates this mission whatever ship you have parked and whatever your recommended level happens to be.

Operations is the real gate. Parsteel Generator B first appears at Operations 2 once Generator A is standing, and it needs your Operations building at the matching level to keep climbing, so Operations 40 has to be up before level 40 is even available to queue. Once it is, the mission is a wait rather than a task.

Parsteel Generator B Level 40 rewards

The mission pays 70 1M Parsteel Tokens. Each token releases 1,000,000 Parsteel from the Resources tab of your inventory, so the full stack is 70 million Parsteel, and it lands in your warehouse when you decide to open it rather than the second the mission ticks over. Completing this one also opens the next part of the chain.

Seventy million Parsteel is a real block at the point in the game where you are running Operations 40 buildings. Parsteel is the alloy every station building costs, and mid-game upgrade prices climb fast enough that a payout this size usually goes straight back into the base within a day or two of opening it.

Tips

Price the upgrade before you commit to it. On current game data a generator’s level 40 step runs in the region of 15.05M Tritanium, 15.05M Dilithium and 2,500 4★ Common Refined Ore, with a build time near eight days unboosted. Costs differ slightly between the eight generator variants, so read the figure the game shows for Generator B rather than assuming it matches Generator A exactly. Tritanium and Dilithium are the squeeze here, not Parsteel.

The output is what makes the wait worth it. A Parsteel Generator at level 40 produces 10 million Parsteel per hour and holds 306 million at once, against 2 million per hour and 49.6 million of storage at level 35. That is a five-fold jump in production from a single upgrade, and it compounds because every generator you own scales the same way.

There is a combat bonus riding along with it. Each Parsteel Generator carries a Hull Health Bonus that reaches 125% at level 40, unlocked at Syndicate Level 30, so the upgrade helps your ships survive as well as your build queue. If you have hit that Syndicate level, treat the generator line as armor rather than economy alone.

Hold the tokens until you have something to spend them on. They sit in inventory until you open them, which keeps 70 million Parsteel out of your warehouse and out of reach of an accidental spend. Open the number a specific building actually asks for, finish the upgrade, then open the next batch.

Stack the generator upgrades if you can. Each generator has its own version of this mission at the same milestone levels, so pushing B to 40 while A, C and D are climbing toward the same mark turns one long build cycle into several payouts arriving close together. The build queue is the only real limit on how fast that goes.
