Lost Unknown Alien

The Lost Unknown Alien is a Neutral hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command that roams deep-space systems from level 26 to 59. It only ever spawns as an Interceptor, so an Explorer-class ship counters it cleanly at every level. Lower-level kills pay Parsteel, while level 41 and up drops 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts. It carries no species lore of its own, just an unmarked raider hull you farm for parts, resources, and ship XP.

How to beat the Lost Unknown Alien

This hostile only appears as an Interceptor, so the counter is simple: bring an Explorer. In the hull triangle, Explorers beat Interceptors, and because the Lost Unknown Alien never swaps hull class between levels, you can run the same Explorer from level 26 all the way to 59 without switching ships. Keep your ship tier ahead of the target level and match your warp to the system band you want to farm.

For the crew, put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the captain seat, then fill the other seats with officers that add damage or mitigation. At low levels the cadet crew is a reliable evergreen option: Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura. Once the target health starts climbing past the low forties, move up to stronger officers. For current picks, see the Officer Tier List, and remember that crews shift with the meta.

Where to find the Lost Unknown Alien

The Lost Unknown Alien spreads across a wide band of systems that deepens as its level climbs. The level 26 spawns sit at warp 25 in just two systems; by level 59 you need warp 225 to reach it. There is a sharp jump from the level 41 spawns at warp 28 to the level 44 spawns at warp 75, so farming the upper half of the range needs a much longer-range ship. Pick a system that matches your level and warp range from the table below.

Rewards and what it drops

Two resources come off the Lost Unknown Alien, split by level. Lower-level kills pay Parsteel, and from level 41 up they drop 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts instead. Ship XP also climbs steeply with level, so the higher spawns are the better choice when you want to level a ship.

Drop What it is
Parsteel A core building material used for base upgrades and construction. Drops at levels 26 to 38.
4-star Broken Interceptor Parts Refinable components used toward 4-star Interceptor ship parts. Drops at levels 41 to 59.

Lost Unknown Alien stats

Stats climb steeply with level, so the jump from one band to the next is large. Its hull HP and shield HP sit at the same value at every level, so there is no lopsided defense to target.

Level Total strength Hull HP Shield HP Attack Defense Ship XP
26 68,130 11,040 11,040 27,650 29,440 393
44 6,722,998 3,913,704 3,913,704 1,595,399 1,213,895 2,001
59 318,935,455 180,996,927 180,996,927 84,717,223 53,221,305 10,822

Lost Unknown Alien firing pattern

The Lost Unknown Alien carries two weapon groups. A single Energy weapon fires every round for modest damage, while two Kinetic weapons fire every other round and hit far harder. Time your repairs and mitigation for the rounds the Kinetic guns land, since that is when the bulk of the damage comes in.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energy 1 3,276 to 4,004 Every round 10% (1.5x)
Kinetic 2 8,986 to 10,982 Every other round 10% (1.5x)

Is the Lost Unknown Alien worth grinding?

The Lost Unknown Alien is a steady farm for Parsteel at low levels and 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts higher up, with ship XP that grows as the levels climb. It only ever appears as an Interceptor, which makes it one of the easier targets to plan for. Bring an Explorer, match your warp to the system you pick, and stay a tier above the level you are hitting.
