Inertia is a level 79 Klingon mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you meet a broker selling a potentially powerful new technology. It is picked up in Velhoxi and never leaves it, and it needs warp 5,500 to start and to complete. There are two fights, against a Bolian vessel and then the Arkonians, both around 400 trillion strength. The reward is 250,000 Σ-Tritanium, 100 15 Minute Σ-Repair Speed Ups and 1,000 Σ-Klingon Credits. It is short and self-contained, and the repair speed ups help with the damage it causes.

Inertia objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split, all in the same system:

  • Meet with the Bolian merchant. Location: Velhoxi.
  • Disable the Bolian vessel. Location: Velhoxi (enemy strength about 401.8 trillion).
  • Defeat the Arkonians. Location: Velhoxi (enemy strength about 405.2 trillion).
  • Launch all remnants of the schematics into the sun. Location: Velhoxi.

The meeting with the Bolian merchant goes badly, and you end up disabling his ship. The Arkonians follow straight after. With both dealt with, you destroy what is left of the schematics by launching them into the sun, so nobody gets the technology.

Where and what warp

The pickup system is Velhoxi, and every objective is there too. Warp to start and warp to complete are both 5,500, and the recommended level is 79.

With no second system to reach, the only travel is the trip out to Velhoxi.

Inertia and Reservations compared

The two level 79 faction missions share a pickup in Velhoxi and the same warp. Here is how they differ:

Mission Faction points gained Systems after pickup Fights Main rewards
Inertia Klingon None 2 250,000 Σ-Tritanium, 100 15 Minute Σ-Repair Speed Ups, 1,000 Σ-Klingon Credits
Reservations Romulan Ta’Luna, Nos’Ons, Coerún, Kúshlah 1, plus 5 hostiles 4,854,000 7★ Raw Ore, 434,000 7★ Broken Explorer Parts, 1,400 Σ-Romulan Credits

Inertia is quicker, since it never leaves Velhoxi. Reservations pays far more in raw resources but makes you travel for it.

Tips

Go in fully repaired. The two fights come one after the other in the same system, and the Arkonians are slightly stronger than the Bolian vessel.

The 100 Σ-Repair Speed Ups add up to 25 hours of repair time, which covers the damage from this mission with plenty left over.

Reputation moves sharply: 31.6 billion Klingon Points in, 37 billion Romulan Points and 17.4 billion Federation Points out. The faction reputation guide explains the tiers, and the Klingon page covers the faction you are working for. The Σ resources page covers the Σ-Tritanium, and the mission guide lists the other level 79 missions.
