Icebreaker is a Federation-side mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you evacuate the civilian population of Andoria to a temporary colony on Riktor II. You fly to Andoria Prime, destroy the Suliban warship there and then carry the Andorians to safety. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 48 to complete. The reward is ten 8 Hour Speed Ups, 500 Federation Credits and 100,000 Federation Points, offset by large Klingon and Romulan reputation losses.

Icebreaker objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Fly to Andoria Prime. Location: Andoria.
  • Destroy the Suliban warship. Location: Andoria (enemy strength about 647,357).
  • Evacuate the Andorians to Riktor II. Location: Riktor.

The mission opens with the flight to Andoria Prime. The Suliban warship there is the only fight, listed at roughly 647,357 strength. Once it is destroyed you take the evacuees to Riktor II, and the mission completes when you arrive.

Where and what warp

Icebreaker has no pickup system and starts at warp 1. It needs warp 48 to complete, covering the trip to Andoria and the evacuation run to Riktor.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. A Suliban warship at about 650,000 strength and warp 48 are the true requirements, so plan to run it once your ship handles both.

Icebreaker rewards

Reward Amount
8 Hour Speed Up 10
Federation Credits 500
Federation Points 100,000
Klingon Points -133,200
Romulan Points -29,600

The ten 8 Hour Speed Ups add up to 80 hours of timer reduction. On the reputation side, you gain 100,000 Federation Points but lose 133,200 Klingon Points and 29,600 Romulan Points.

Icebreaker and Failing on the Main Front compared

Icebreaker follows Failing on the Main Front, where, with the Romulans decimating the Andorian Imperial Guard, Starfleet intervenes directly to take stock of the situation.

Mission Warp to complete Main rewards Federation Points Klingon Points Romulan Points
Failing on the Main Front 47 15 3★ Rare Refined Gas, 400 Federation Credits, 1 Energy Manifold 60,000 -77,760 -17,280
Icebreaker 48 10 8 Hour Speed Ups, 500 Federation Credits 100,000 -133,200 -29,600

Icebreaker needs one more point of warp and pushes your reputation further in both directions than the mission before it.

Tips

Bring a proper combat ship for the Suliban warship. It is the only obstacle, but at around 650,000 strength it is not a fight to take with a survey or mining hull.

If Klingon reputation matters to you, weigh the loss before accepting. The Klingon deduction is larger than the Federation gain, and there is no alternate path.

Put the 8 Hour Speed Ups toward a long building or research timer rather than short jobs. For more Federation-side missions in this storyline, see the STFC mission guide.
