Hold The Line is a Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you defend a colony from an attack. Everything happens in the Hann system: you warn the colony on Xedecir, help with its defenses, then beat three enemy ships in a row before heading home. It needs warp 1 to start and warp 18 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is three James T. Kirk shards, 150 3★ Survey Parts and an 8 Hour Speed Up. For the Kirk shards alone it is worth running.
Hold The Line objectives
There are six objectives and no choice split:
- Warn the colony on Xedecir of the Romulan attack. Location: Hann.
- Help the colonists with their defenses.
- Defeat the Suliban Captain. Location: Hann. Enemy strength is roughly 23,149.
- Defeat the Romulan Centurion. Location: Hann. Enemy strength is roughly 37,726.
- Defeat the Klingon Bird of Prey. Location: Hann. Enemy strength is roughly 37,726.
- Return to your Station.
The opening is travel: fly to Hann and warn the colony on Xedecir. The second step, helping the colonists with their defenses, has no system or amount attached in the current data, so read the objective in game when you reach it and have the resources ready.
Then come three fights, all in Hann. The Suliban Captain is the lightest at about 23,149. The Romulan Centurion and the Klingon Bird of Prey are both about 37,726, so the last two fights are the ones that test your ship. The final step sends you home to your station.
Where and what warp
The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 18 to complete. Hann is the only system named in the objectives, so once your ship can reach it, every fight is in one place and there is no hopping between systems mid-mission.
The recommended level is listed as 1, but the three fights set the real bar. A ship that handles a 37,726 hostile comfortably is the one to bring.
Hold The Line rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| James T. Kirk shards | 3 |
| 3★ Survey Parts | 150 |
| 8 Hour Speed Up | 1 |
| Federation Points | 160 |
| Klingon Points | -121 |
The Klingon Points line is negative. Finishing the mission costs you 121 points of Klingon standing while adding 160 Federation Points.
Hold The Line and The Enterprise Incident compared
The mission before this one, The Enterprise Incident, runs on a similar pattern at a similar range.
| Mission | Warp to complete | System | Fights | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Enterprise Incident | 17 | Huebr | 10 hostiles, then Commander Chevath at about 30,071 | 1 3 Hour Speed Up |
| Hold The Line | 18 | Hann | Three named ships, up to about 37,726 | 3 Kirk shards, 150 3★ Survey Parts, 8 Hour Speed Up, faction points |
Hold The Line asks a little more of your ship and pays far more back.
Tips
Bring a combat ship and repair between fights if you need to. The three hostiles are back to back in Hann, and the last two are the strongest.
Watch your Klingon standing. The -121 Klingon Points is small, but if you are working toward a Klingon reputation goal, it pulls the other way.
The 8 Hour Speed Up is worth saving for a long build rather than spending on something that finishes soon anyway.
Game data places this mission in the storyline that begins with Corbomite Maneuver. Previous mission: The Enterprise Incident. Next mission: A Sharp Eye. Every other mission by level is on the mission guide.
