Grand Larceny is a Discovery storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you use the Exchange data leak to find VESTA. It has a recommended level of 26 and needs warp 24 to finish. All three objectives are in Tombstone: investigate a distress signal, defeat a bounty hunter at roughly 133,020 strength, and investigate the wreckage. The reward is 299,000 Parsteel, 9,000 Dilithium and a 1 Day Speed Up.

Grand Larceny objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate the distress signal. Location: Tombstone.
  • Defeat the bounty hunter. Location: Tombstone. Enemy strength is roughly 133,020.
  • Investigate the wreckage. Location: Tombstone.

The distress signal draws you to Tombstone, where a bounty hunter is waiting. Once it is beaten, you investigate the wreckage in the same system and the mission completes. No return to your station is listed.

Where and what warp

There is no pickup system, and the mission becomes available at warp 1. Completing it needs warp 24, the range for Tombstone. With all three steps in one system, it is a single trip.

The recommended level is 26. A bounty hunter at about 133,020 strength is a fair test at that level.

Grand Larceny rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 299,000
Dilithium 9,000
1 Day Speed Up 1

Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission in the chain.

Grand Larceny at other levels

Grand Larceny is offered in 4 versions, at recommended levels 2, 11, 26 and 40. The objectives are the same in each; the systems, warp and rewards change with the version. The walkthrough above covers the level 26 version.

Recommended level Systems Warp to complete Rewards
2 No set system 1 30 Parsteel
11 Eojur 7 350 Tritanium
26 (this page) Tombstone 24 9,000 Dilithium, 1 1 Day Speed Up, 299,000 Parsteel
40 Tombstone 24 292,000 Dilithium, 130 Latinum

Grand Larceny and its neighbours

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Rewards
Seeing Double 26 15 895,000 Parsteel, 132,000 Tritanium, 240 3★ Interceptor Parts
Grand Larceny 26 24 299,000 Parsteel, 9,000 Dilithium, 1 1 Day Speed Up
Liquidation 11 5 200 Dilithium, 3 1 Hour Speed Up

Grand Larceny is the long jump in this stretch. Seeing Double before it needs warp 15, and the warp rises to 24 here. The next mission, Liquidation, shows a recommended level of 11 and warp 5, so after Tombstone the range pressure drops away.

Seeing Double pays more in raw resources, while Grand Larceny’s standout is the 1 Day Speed Up. A full day off a timer is worth more than it looks at level 26, when many upgrades run for more than a day.

Tips

Check your warp before you set out. At 24, this is the highest warp in the three missions shown, so it is the one most likely to need a warp upgrade.

Bring a combat ship and arrive repaired. The bounty hunter is the only fight, but it comes right after the distress signal with nothing in between.

Save the 1 Day Speed Up. It is best used on a long building or research timer, not on a short one you could wait out.

If you are following the Discovery story, run Seeing Double, Grand Larceny and Liquidation in order. Every mission by level is on the mission guide.
