Fool’s Errand is a single Q mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 19. Q summons you to his Court and demands a freshly baked Andorian baguette, and it has to come from Andoria because anything else is subpar. You end up fighting an Orion ship for the last loaf in the best bakery on Andoria Prime. The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 30 to complete, and it pays 4,000 Ship XP, 39,000 Parsteel and 1,200 Dilithium. It is light, silly and quick.
Fool’s Errand objectives
There are six objectives and no choice split:
- Follow the summons to the Court of Q.
- Travel to Andorian space. Location: Andoria.
- Meet with your Andorian contact. Location: Andoria.
- Travel to Rondel’s Bakery on Andoria Prime. Location: Andoria.
- Defeat Orion ship. Location: Andoria. Enemy strength about 18,400.
- Return to your station.
Q threatens to turn Maia into a pocket calculator when she takes the wrong tone, then explains he is hungry. Baguettes from your own stores will not do. On Andoria, your contact Ekybol says everyone agrees that Rondel’s Bakery is the taste of Andoria, and you get the very last loaf. An Orion ship then hails you: his boss sent him for a Rondel’s baguette and he will not survive going back without one. After the fight the bread is intact, and Q judges it a little salty but serviceable.
Where and what warp
No pickup system is listed and the mission starts at warp 1. The first step is the summons to the Court of Q, and the Andorian steps need warp 30 to complete. The recommended level is 19.
The Orion ship, at roughly 18,400 strength, is the only fight.
Fool’s Errand rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Ship XP | 4,000 |
| Parsteel | 39,000 |
| Dilithium | 1,200 |
Q’s errands compared
Q sends you on more than one errand around this level. Here is how this one compares with Personal Records:
| Mission | Recommended level | Warp to complete | Fights | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Records | 16 | 13 | 10 hostiles, Klingon raiders | 3,900 Tritanium, 3,800 Ship XP, 1 1 Day Speed Up, 250 Independent Archives Schematics, 150 Archive Data Shards |
| Fool’s Errand | 19 | 30 | One Orion ship | 4,000 Ship XP, 39,000 Parsteel, 1,200 Dilithium |
Fool’s Errand has the longer trip and the bigger Parsteel payout; Personal Records is the one that sets up the Independent Archives.
Tips
Plan for the warp 30 trip. The only real requirement is getting to Andoria and back, so make sure your ship can reach it.
Any combat ship at level 19 will handle the Orion ship.
The 39,000 Parsteel is the most useful part of the reward at this level. Every mission by level is on the mission guide.
