Fitting Punishment

Fitting Punishment is a late-game story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you escort Venonn to his sentencing at Starfleet Headquarters. It can be picked up at warp 1 but needs warp 65 to finish, with stops in Dashai and Sol, and it has no fights at all. The rewards are large: 101,250,000 Parsteel, 36 100K Dilithium Tokens and 645,000 Federation reputation, offset by a loss of more than a million Klingon reputation.

Fitting Punishment objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Collect Venonn from his holding cell on New Horizon. Location: Dashai.
  • Attend Venonn’s court martial at Starfleet Headquarters. Location: Sol.
  • Return to your Station.

The mission is pure travel. You pick Venonn up from New Horizon in Dashai, fly him to Starfleet Headquarters in Sol for his court martial, and then return home. No hostile, captain or donation appears anywhere in it.

Where and what warp

Fitting Punishment has no named pickup system and can be picked up at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 65, because Dashai and Sol both need to be in range.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. With no fight in the mission, warp 65 really is the only barrier, so any ship with that range can finish it.

Fitting Punishment rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 101,250,000
100K Dilithium Token 36
Federation Credits 700
Federation Points 645,000
Klingon Points -1,091,340

Fitting Punishment does not unlock a follow-up mission.

The 36 100K Dilithium Tokens are worth 3.6 million Dilithium between them. Combined with more than 100 million Parsteel, that is a lot of value for a mission with nothing to fight.

The reputation trade

The faction line is the part to think about. You gain 645,000 Federation reputation and lose 1,091,340 Klingon reputation. The Klingon loss is well over one and a half times the Federation gain.

Other late missions that pay Federation reputation carry a similar trade, on a smaller scale:

Mission Warp to complete Federation Points Klingon Points
The Andorian Plague 105 374,000 -592,416
Closure 135 448,000 -725,760
Fitting Punishment 65 645,000 -1,091,340

Fitting Punishment has the largest swing of the three while asking for the least warp. For a Federation player that is excellent value. For anyone keeping Klingon standing up, it is the most damaging of the three.

Tips

Use any ship with the range. No objective involves combat, so there is no reason to tie up your main combat ship. A survey or spare hull with warp 65 is enough.

Decide on the Klingon hit first. More than a million Klingon reputation is a big loss. If you are building toward a Klingon reputation tier, hold off.

Spend the Dilithium Tokens where Dilithium is the bottleneck. At 3.6 million Dilithium in total, they are a useful top-up for the next building or research step.

The mission before this one in the story is Stolen Property. More late-game missions are on the mission guide.
