Ever Expanding is a level 62 station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single objective: upgrade Operations to level 62. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish. The reward is 100,000,000 Parsteel and 180,000 Raw Σ-Tritanium, and completing it unlocks Ventures, the next story mission. The Operations upgrade is the whole challenge, and it is one of the bigger upgrades at this stage.
Ever Expanding objectives
Howards has been studying the Progenitor code behind Maia, your station A.I., and has found data paths blocked by neural inhibitor scripts. Removing some of them should give Maia a large boost in processing power, but Howards needs more resources on the station side first. There is one objective and no choice split:
- Upgrade Operations to level 62.
No system, hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes when Operations reaches level 62, and Howards gets to work on the inhibitors.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The recommended level is 62, the same number as the Operations level the mission asks for.

Operations 62 needs Parsteel Vault 61 and Shipyard 61 before you can start it. Its listed cost and base build time:

Level 62 is where Operations changes currency. Level 61 is still priced in ordinary Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium (about 150 trillion Parsteel), while level 62 asks for Σ resources and 6★ refined Ore instead. Level 63 then rises to 3,135,890 Σ-Parsteel and needs Dilithium Vault 62, Defense Platform E 62 and Ship Hangar 62.

Tips
Get warp 900 ready while Operations builds. Ventures, which this mission unlocks, sends you exploring the Frontier and needs warp 900 to complete, a big jump from the warp 1 missions on either side of it.
Operations 62 also clears the way for later story steps. Developing Minds, a few missions on, asks for R&D Department 62, and that upgrade itself requires Operations 62.
The 100 million Parsteel is small next to the Σ-Parsteel bill, so treat the reward as a bonus on an upgrade you need anyway.
