Ensign of the Times is a level 11 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, listed on this wiki as Discovery Part 4 in the Discovery arc. You escort Ensign Tilly to a colony that needs her expertise, then help it with Parsteel and ore. It starts at warp 1, needs warp 7 to complete, and every located objective is in Clytomenes. There is no fight. It pays 1,900 Tritanium, 370 Dilithium and 10 2★ Common Refined Crystal.
Ensign of the Times objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Escort Tilly to the colony. Location: Clytomenes.
- Donate 20,000 Parsteel to the colony.
- Mine 240 G2 Raw Ore.
- Return to the colony with the consignment of G2 Raw Ore. Location: Clytomenes.
- Donate 240 G2 Raw Ore.
After dropping Tilly at the colony, the rest of the mission is supply work. You donate 20,000 Parsteel, go out to mine 240 G2 Raw Ore, bring it back to Clytomenes, and donate it. The colony planet is Apcor, in the Clytomenes system.
No objective names an enemy, so this is a mining and donation mission from start to finish.
Where and what warp
Ensign of the Times is available at warp 1 and needs warp 7 to complete. The recommended level is 11. Clytomenes is the only named system, and you visit it twice: once to deliver Tilly and once to bring the ore.
The mining objective has no system attached in the game data. Only the escort and the ore delivery are tied to Clytomenes.

What it costs you
Ensign of the Times has two donations. The first is 20,000 Parsteel, handed over straight after you arrive. The second is the 240 G2 Raw Ore you mine specifically for the colony, so it costs mining time rather than stock you already hold.
Against that, the reward is modest: 1,900 Tritanium, 370 Dilithium and 10 refined crystal. The 10 2★ Common Refined Crystal is the line most players will value, as the only refined material in the payout.
Put side by side, you hand over 20,000 Parsteel and 240 G2 Raw Ore and get back smaller amounts of three other resources. On resources alone the mission is not a money-maker, so the main reason to finish is progression: completing Ensign of the Times is what opens the next mission in the arc.
Tips
Have 20,000 Parsteel ready before you set out. The Parsteel donation is the second objective, so the mission stalls right after you deliver Tilly if you are short.
Bring a mining ship, or switch to one after the escort. The 240 G2 Raw Ore is the biggest task in the mission, and there is nothing to fight.
