Iteration is an early story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you gather components for Tilly’s proposed defense array configuration. The game lists a recommended level of 12. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 11 to complete. After asking about the components on Vaset in Bellas, you choose how to get them. Paying the vendor 750 Dilithium pays speed ups and Interceptor Parts. Tracking down the Rigellian means a small fight and pays Parsteel, Latinum and Tritanium. Both unlock Spinning Plates.

Iteration objectives

The shared opening has two objectives:

  • Inquire about the components on Vaset. Location: Bellas.
  • Choose how to obtain the components.

Choice A: pay the vendor

  • Pay 750 Dilithium to the vendor.

Rewards: 4 15 Minute Repair Speed Up, 20 2★ Interceptor Parts, 40 5 Minute Speed Up.

Choice B: track down the Rigellian

  • Track down the Rigellian. Location: Zaurak.
  • Defeat the Rigellian. Location: Zaurak. Enemy strength is roughly 3,012.
  • Return to the vendor with an update. Location: Bellas.

Rewards: 9,000 Parsteel, 12 Latinum, 1,400 Tritanium.

Choice A ends the mission as soon as you pay. Choice B adds a trip to Zaurak, a light fight and a return to Bellas.

Where and what warp

The mission is available from warp 1 and needs warp 11 to complete. Bellas is where it starts and, on Choice B, where it ends; Zaurak is only visited on Choice B.

The recommended level is 12. The Rigellian at about 3,012 is well within reach at that level.

Iteration rewards

Reward Pay the vendor Track down the Rigellian
15 Minute Repair Speed Up 4 none
2★ Interceptor Parts 20 none
5 Minute Speed Up 40 none
Parsteel none 9,000
Latinum none 12
Tritanium none 1,400

Either choice unlocks the next mission, Spinning Plates.

Iteration after Ensign of the Times

The mission before this one is Ensign of the Times, where you escort Ensign Tilly to a colony that needs her expertise. It has a recommended level of 11, needs warp 7, and pays 10 2★ Common Refined Crystal, 1,900 Tritanium and 370 Dilithium. Iteration raises the level by one and the warp by four.

The Dilithium from Ensign of the Times does not quite cover the 750 Dilithium the vendor asks for, so plan for the rest.

Tips

Pick by what you need. Choice A saves time and pays 200 minutes of speed ups plus Interceptor Parts. Choice B costs no Dilithium and pays resources and Latinum, which is hard to come by early.

If Dilithium is tight, track down the Rigellian. The fight is small, and you keep your 750 Dilithium.

The mission before this one is Ensign of the Times, and the next is Spinning Plates. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
