Dossier 4: Mutual Gain is a Section 31 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 50. Bristow sends you to propose a deal to the mining colony in Sunray: Section 31’s protection in exchange for exclusive access to the colony’s Mirror Universe Monotanium. It needs warp 1 to start and warp 10 to complete. You donate 1B Parsteel, call for reinforcements, and survive a round of Section 31: Wave Defense. The reward is 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, seven 12 Hour Assignment Speed Ups and 825,067,000 Parsteel.
Dossier 4: Mutual Gain objectives
There are six objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Bristow.
- Proceed to the colony. Location: Sunray.
- Donate 1B Parsteel to help with repairs.
- Call for reinforcements. Location: Sunray.
- Survive a round of Section 31: Wave Defense near the Sunray system.
- Report back to Bristow.
Sunray is the colony you helped in your first job for Section 31, when it was building a Monotanium plant. The plant now sits on an interphasic rift with access to Mirror Universe Monotanium. The colony leader, Cerzo, needs 1B Parsteel for drill upgrades, and after the donation agrees to the deal. Then you call in other Independents and hold off the attack.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 10 to complete, with no pickup system. The mission begins with Bristow outside your station, and Sunray is the only system you visit.
The recommended level is 50. The Wave Defense round and the 1B Parsteel donation are the two real requirements. The mission’s own prompt notes that only docked ships can start a Wave Defense.

The Parsteel reward is smaller than the 1B donation, so the mission costs about 175 million Parsteel net. The recruit tokens and assignment speed ups are the real payout.

Every Dossier ends with a round of Section 31: Wave Defense and a report to Section 31. Dossier 4 is the only one with a resource donation.
Tips
Keep your ships docked when you are ready for the Wave Defense step, since that is the only way to start it.
Have 1B Parsteel ready before you reach Sunray; the reinforcements step waits on the donation.
