Dossier 1: Vested Interest is the first numbered Section 31 Dossier mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 30. Bristow sends you to a lab researching safe uses for Borg technology, where someone has been talking too much and unfriendly parties have started to take an interest. It starts at warp 1, needs only warp 10 to complete, and pays 150 Premium Recruit Tokens and 101,000 Dilithium. It ends with a round of Section 31: Wave Defense, so plan for that step.
Dossier 1: Vested Interest objectives
There are seven objectives and no choice split:
- Meet with Bristow.
- Proceed to the Tango system. Location: Tango.
- Defeat the hostile vessel. Location: Tango. Enemy strength about 296,000.
- Speak with the lab manager. Location: Tango.
- Find Dalton. Location: Tango.
- Survive a round of Section 31: Wave Defense near the Tango system.
- Report back to Bristow.
A ship in orbit over the lab ignores your hails and attacks, and afterwards turns out to be a surveillance vessel. T’Seph, the lab manager, insists her staff are loyal, then works out who the leak is: Dalton, a technician who bragged about the project on a date. Dalton realises too late that his date was after information. Before you can leave, long-range sensors show too many incoming ships for the lab to handle, so you call in Section 31’s Independent network and hold the line. Bristow wants the technician’s name, and you keep it to yourself.
Where and what warp
No pickup system is listed and the mission starts at warp 1. Completing it needs warp 10, since everything outside your station happens in Tango. The recommended level is 30.
The surveillance ship is the one named fight, at roughly 296,000 strength. The Wave Defense round is the other combat step; the mission itself tells you to choose a Wave Defense system and press Defend, and only docked ships can start one.

Dossier 1 is the only one at level 30 and the only one that pays Premium Recruit Tokens.
Tips
Dock before the Wave Defense step. Only docked ships can start the round, so after finding Dalton, head home and launch it from your station.
Any combat ship around level 30 can handle the surveillance ship, and warp 10 puts Tango within reach of almost everyone.
