Debugging is a Federation story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help Montgomery Scott get the components he needs for vital diagnostic scans on your fleet. You meet Scotty on Riannon in New Reykjavik, buy the parts from a trader on Haddon in Miers for 275 million Parsteel, and bring them back to Scotty. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 160 to complete. There is no fight. The reward is 90 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore and 24 4★ Rare Refined Ore, and finishing it unlocks Muzzled.
Debugging objectives
There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Meet Scotty on the surface of Riannon. Location: New Reykjavik.
- Rendezvous with the trader on Haddon. Location: Miers.
- Pay 275M Parsteel for the components.
- Return the components to Scotty on Riannon. Location: New Reykjavik.
The mission is a round trip from New Reykjavik to Miers and back, with a large Parsteel payment in the middle. No enemy is listed.
Where and what warp
You can accept Debugging at warp 1, but New Reykjavik and Miers need warp 160. The game lists a recommended level of 1. The real requirements are the warp 160 range and 275 million spare Parsteel.
The game lists Federation Traders, Patrols, Peacekeepers and eighteen Federation Elite Assassins in New Reykjavik at level 45 to 51, and Federation Patrols, Peacekeepers and a Federation Scout in Miers at level 46 to 52. Each system also has a Klingon Hunter or two. None of them are mission targets.
Debugging rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore | 90 |
| 4★ Rare Refined Ore | 24 |
Completing it unlocks Muzzled, where you rein in Captain Beckett and the USS Mason. The mission before Debugging is Discrepancies, a deeper look into Beckett’s operations.
Debugging in the Beckett story
| Mission | Warp to complete | Story | Main rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discrepancies | 120 | Investigate Captain Beckett’s operations further | 8,370,000 Dilithium, 90 4★ Uncommon Interceptor Parts, 26 4★ Rare and 100 4★ Uncommon Refined Crystal |
| Debugging | 160 | Get Scotty the components for fleet diagnostics | 90 4★ Uncommon and 24 4★ Rare Refined Ore |
| Muzzled | 185 | Rein in Beckett and the USS Mason | 33,405,000 Tritanium, 80 4★ Uncommon Explorer Parts, 774,000 Federation Points |
| Dishonorable Discharge | 185 | Bring Beckett to justice | 290 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 774,000 Federation Points |
Debugging is the step where the warp requirement climbs from 120 to 160. The last two missions go further, to 185.
Tips
Save up the 275 million Parsteel before you start. The payment is the third objective, and the mission cannot finish until it is made.
Send any ship that can reach warp 160. With no combat, there is no reason to tie up your main fighter.
The refined ore is the whole reward, so Debugging is most useful when an upgrade is waiting on 4★ ore. Other missions by level are on the mission guide.
