Too Little Too Late

Too Little Too Late is a Federation evacuation run in the Teneebia system that ends in two fights. You pick it up in Wolf at warp 40, and the mission takes you out to warp 49 before it closes. The payout is 801,000 Dilithium along with speedups and Föderation reputation. It also costs you 144,000 Klingonisch Points, so check your faction standing before you accept it.

Too Little Too Late objectives

Five objectives, in this order. No branches, no choices.

  • Make your way to the evacuation zone, in Teneebia.
  • Take the evacuees to the safe zone, in Arcturus.
  • Return for a second wave of evacuees, in Teneebia.
  • Fend off the Romulanisch warship, in Teneebia. Enemy strength around 1,373,877.
  • Destroy the Romulan bombers, in Teneebia. Enemy strength around 1,742,212.

The first three steps are travel. You go to Teneebia, carry the first group of evacuees to Arcturus, then turn around and come back for the rest. Nothing shoots at you during that stretch, so the only cost is flight time between the two systems.

The last two steps are combat, and the second one is the harder of the pair. The Romulan warship lands first at roughly 1.37 million strength, and the bombers follow at roughly 1.74 million. Both fights happen in Teneebia, which means you can repair and come back without losing your place in the mission.

Wo und welcher Warp

The mission starts in Wolf and needs warp 40 to pick up. Completing it requires warp 49, and that second number is the one that matters. Teneebia and Arcturus sit far enough out that a ship parked at warp 40 will get partway through and then stall.

Work out your warp range before you accept. If you are short of 49, the fix is either a warp refit on the ship you plan to use or the warp research that raises your range, and neither of those happens quickly. Starting the mission with a ship that cannot reach the end just leaves it sitting open in your log.

Too Little Too Late rewards

Belohnung Amount
Dilithium 801,000
3 Hour Speed Up 28
Federation Credits 500
Federation Points 100,000
Klingon Points -144,000

Finishing it also unlocks the next part of the chain.

The Dilithium is the headline. 801,000 in one mission is a real amount at the point in an account where warp 49 is reachable, and it goes straight into research or the Dilithium side of ship building. The 28 three-hour speedups are worth more than they look, since that is 84 hours of timer you can pour into whatever build or research you have queued.

The reputation swing is the part to think about. You gain 100,000 Federation Points and lose 144,000 Klingon Points, and the loss is larger than the gain. If you are running a Federation account, that is a straightforward win. If you have been grinding Klingon standing for store access or Klingon officer shards, this mission sets you back further than one Federation mission moves you forward.

Tips

Decide on your faction plan first. The Klingon Point loss cannot be undone except by grinding it back, so if Klingon standing is something you are actively building, park this mission until you have what you need from that store.

Repair between the two fights. The warship softens you up and the bombers hit harder, so walking into the second fight on a damaged hull is how players lose a ship here. Both hostiles are in Teneebia, so a trip home to repair costs you travel time and nothing else.

Bring a ship built for Romulan targets. Both enemies are Romulan, and the strength numbers assume you are showing up with something appropriate for that range rather than whatever happens to be free.

Do the evacuation legs when you have a few minutes to sit with the game. The Teneebia to Arcturus to Teneebia loop is three separate trips at high warp, and the objectives only tick over when your ship arrives. Queuing it up and walking away means coming back to a mission that stopped at step two.

Bank the speedups instead of spending them on the first thing that finishes. 84 hours of three-hour speedups clears a long research node or a big build in one go, and that use is worth more than shaving a few minutes off short timers.
