Defector is a Romulan story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. The Tal Shiar need an unmarked transport to carry a large cargo container across the border, and you are it. The mission is picked up in Vendus A at warp 19, needs warp 19 to complete, and has one fight: an Arkonian Interceptor at roughly 75,312 strength. The reward is 250 Romulanisch Recruit Tokens, 150 Romulan Credits and 3,100 Romulan Points. Worth it for Romulan players.
Defector objectives

- Collect the container from the planet Denna. Location: Kepler-018.
- Defeat the Arkonian Interceptor. Location: Kepler-018. Enemy strength is roughly 75,312.
- Take the Klingon to safety. Location: Azha.
The mission starts as a delivery job. You collect the container from Denna in Kepler-018, then deal with the Arkonian Interceptor in the same system. The last step changes the picture: the final objective has you take “the Klingon” to safety in Azha.
The Arkonian Interceptor is the only fight. Collecting the container and the trip to Azha have no enemy attached in the game Daten.

Defector is picked up in Vendus A. It needs warp 19 both to start and to complete, so a ship that can reach Vendus A to accept it meets the whole warp requirement. The game lists a recommended level of 1, so the Arkonian Interceptor’s strength of about 75,312 is the better guide to whether you are ready.
Three systems are involved: Vendus A for the pickup, Kepler-018 for the container and the fight, and Azha for the drop-off.

What the rewards mean for your faction standing
Every reward in Defector leans Romulan. You gain 3,100 Romulan Points, 150 Romulan Credits and 250 Romulan Recruit Tokens. At the same time you lose 1,934 Federation Points and 1,581 Klingon Points.
The two losses add up to 3,515, slightly more than the Romulan gain. If you are building Romulan reputation, that trade is the point. If you are trying to stay in good standing with the Federation or the Klingonen, it is a small hit on both, and it adds up if you run many Romulan missions.
The Romulan Recruit Tokens are the most distinctive line. They go toward Romulan recruitment, so their value depends on how much you care about Romulan Offiziere.
Tips
Bring a combat ship to Kepler-018. The Arkonian Interceptor sits at roughly 75,312 strength, and it stands between the container pickup and the drop-off.
Plan the route as one run. Vendus A, Kepler-018 and Azha are the only systems, and the objectives visit them in that order with no backtracking.
Check your faction goals before you accept. The Federation and Klingon point losses are fixed, and there is no choice split to avoid them.
