Schatten-Schwerter

Shadow Swords is a Federation-side story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. After an attack on a Föderation Starbase in the Babel system, you mount a rescue, chase the attackers to Nekosa, destroy them and report back to Admiral Johnson in Gemet. It is picked up in Nekosa at warp 40 and needs warp 47 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the attackers are about 2.1 million strength. The reward is 2,749,000 Parsteel, with no faction points attached.

Shadow Swords objectives

The story line asks you to investigate an attack on a Federation Starbase in the Babel system. There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:

  • Mount a rescue mission to Babel. Location: Babel.
  • Find the fleeing attackers. Location: Nekosa.
  • Defeat the attackers. Location: Nekosa. Enemy strength is roughly 2,104,711.
  • Return to Admiral Johnson. Location: Gemet.

The route runs from Babel to Nekosa and on to Gemet. The attackers in Nekosa are the only fight.

Wo und welcher Warp

The pickup system is Nekosa, and the mission needs warp 40 to start and warp 47 to complete. Since the mission sends you to Babel first and then back to Nekosa, expect to cross the same ground twice.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The attackers at about 2,104,711 strength and the warp 47 requirement are what actually gate the mission.

Shadow Swords rewards

The only reward is 2,749,000 Parsteel. The mission does not unlock a follow-up and carries no faction reputation changes, unlike the other Admiral Johnson Missionen below.

Other Admiral Johnson missions

Mission Warp zum Abschließen Fight Belohnungen
Schatten-Schwerter 47 Attackers in Nekosa (about 2,104,711) 2,749,000 Parsteel
Weltraumrennen 40 Romulanisch Centurion in Nekosa (about 2,104,711) 444,000 Dilithium, 240 3★ Explorer Parts, 600 Federation Credits, 100,000 Federation Points
Spezialist 47 None; choose ship parts or Offiziere 5 3★ Rohkristall or 10 James T. Kirk shards, plus 600 Federation Credits and 100,000 Federation Points

Space Race sends you to the same system to fight an enemy of the same listed strength, so the two make a natural pair. Space Race and Specialist both cost 147,600 Klingonisch Points; Shadow Swords costs nothing in reputation.

Hostiles along the route

Current hostile data shows level 38 and 39 neutral stations in Nekosa, including the Pirate Stronghold, Marauder Haven and Slave Market. Babel has Federation hostiles from level 35 to 41, among them the Föderationspatrouille. Gemet’s hostiles are much lower, from level 22 to 28.

Tips

Bring a combat ship built for 2.1 million strength targets. The attackers are the only enemy, but they are the whole difficulty of the mission.

Run it with Space Race. Both involve Nekosa and an enemy of the same strength, so one trip can cover the fighting for both. Specialist also completes at warp 47, so a ship that can finish Shadow Swords has the range for it too.

The 2,749,000 Parsteel is a flat resource payout, useful for any station upgrade in progress. Other missions are listed on the Missionsleitfaden.
