Operations 42 is a station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single objective: upgrade your Operations building to level 42. It starts and finishes at warp 1, and the game lists a recommended level of 1, so the upgrade itself is the only gate. The reward is 70 each of 4★ Ungewöhnlich Refined Ore, Crystal and Gas. That is a modest payout next to what Operations 42 costs to build, but it arrives for an upgrade you need anyway.

No system is named and there are no fights or donations. The mission completes once Operations reaches level 42.

The resource cost is about 10.45 billion Parsteel, 96.1 million Tritanium, 32 million Dilithium, 88,000 4★ Common Refined Ore and 30,000 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore. Unboosted, the build takes 291 days, so plan your speed ups around it.
Set against that bill, 70 each of three 4★ Uncommon refined materials is a small top-up. It still helps, since 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore is part of the upgrade cost itself.

Operations 41 and 42 pay the same amount. Operations 43 adds ten of each, and by the late forties the rewards switch from 4★ Uncommon to smaller amounts of 4★ Rare refined materials.
The step after this one is steeper. Operations 43 needs Shipyard 42, Defense Platform E 10 and Ship Hangar 42, costs about 14.93 billion Parsteel and 137 million Tritanium, and takes about 384 days unboosted. Its mission reward rises to 80 of each material to match.
Tips
Line up the three prerequisite Gebäude first. Shipyard, Dilithium Vault and Defense Platform D all need to be at level 41 before Operations 42 can start, and each of those is a long build of its own.
