Scotty wants answers, the Federation has to patch things up with the Klingonisch Empire, Ilia goes missing, and the V’ger Child and House Amar push toward the Sol system. Every part is recommended for level 51. The chain starts with Scotty in Rehan, and warp to complete ranges from 25 to 205. Rewards include 3 V’ger Ilia shards, 90 Signal Observatory Schematics and 1,102,500,000 Tritanium. The late parts are fight-heavy, with the final part alone holding six battles.

Tips for completing Natural Selection

Range matters most in the first half. Parts 1, 2 and 4 need warp 205 and Part 3 needs warp 160, while Parts 5 to 8 all finish at warp 56 or less.

Fights get heavier toward the end. Parts 2 to 4 have one or two battles each, topping out at about 22.6 million strength. Part 6 has four in Fibona, Part 7 has three counting your chosen target, and Part 8 has six, with the V’ger Child’s vessel listed at about 26.1 million. Repair between fights in Part 8, since they come one after another across Teneebia and Alpha Centauri.

Two donations need planning. Part 1 asks for 690M Tritanium, and Part 4 asks for 135M Dilithium, which the 171,000,000 Dilithium from Part 1 already covers. Part 4 then pays 1,102,500,000 Tritanium, more than refunding the Part 1 donation. The Part 3 kill count asks for 6 hostiles of level 47 or higher, and Neo’Tek spawns hostiles at levels 47 to 51.

At the Part 7 choice, the rewards are identical, so pick whichever target your ship handles better. The Fighters are listed slightly weaker than Amar’s flagship.

Are the Natural Selection rewards worth it?

Yes, for a level 51 account. The chain pays 3 V’ger Ilia shards, 548,000 Officer XP, 245 Challenge Credits, 90 Signal Observatory Schematics for the Signal Observatory, 1,102,500,000 Tritanium and 171,000,000 Dilithium. The cost is 17 fights up to about 26 million strength and several warp 205 trips. Orion Scientists, the level 51 chain about the new V’ger Orion ship, pays 2 more Ilia shards. More chains are listed on the STFC mission guide.
