Trailing Off is a Star Trek Fleet Command story mission in which you defend Dalen from Starfleet. It lists a recommended level of 1, starts at warp 1 and needs warp 22 to finish, moving from a hostile grind to Qualor and then Panak. You clear 10 hostiles of level 26 or higher, beat a Starfleet Officer of about 347,055 strength and then shake off pursuit. The reward is 370 3★ Explorer Parts, a big boost for anyone upgrading an explorer.
Trailing Off objectives

- Shake off the chasing ship. Location: Panak.
- Find a planet to hide out on. Location: Panak.
The mission plays as a running escape. It opens with the hostile grind, which has no system attached. You then head for Qualor to get away before reinforcements arrive, only to face the Starfleet Officer there. The last two steps move to Panak, where you lose the chasing ship and find a planet to hide on.
The Starfleet Officer is the only named fight, and it comes right after the 10-hostile objective, so your ship may still be carrying damage from the grind.

Warp is 1 to start and 22 to complete. The named systems are Qualor and Panak, and warp 22 covers both.
The listed recommended level is 1, but the level 26 floor on the hostiles and the 347,055-strength Starfleet Officer are the real guide to when you can finish.
The mission ends in Panak, not at your station. The final objective is finding a hide-out planet there.
Trailing Off rewards
The only reward is 370 3★ Explorer Parts. Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission in the storyline, Ankunft.
Three hundred and seventy parts in a single payout is a large stack, and all of it goes toward Entdeckerschiffe.

Trailing Off is the only one of the three with a named fight on top of the hostile grind. It is also the only one that pays ship parts.
Tips
Repair after the hostile grind if you can. Ten kills at level 26 or higher come first, and the Starfleet Officer follows straight after in Qualor.
Bring a combat ship that can handle about 347,055 strength. That fight is the step most likely to stop you.
Plan for the ship to finish in Panak. The mission ends at the hide-out, so you will need to send the ship home yourself afterwards.
