Man Out Of Time is a level 4 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you track down the notorious Romulan outlaw Javaid, disable the outlaw’s ship and decide Javaid’s fate. It can be picked up in 12 systems, including Baw and Estrada, and needs warp 5 to start and to finish. Letting Javaid go pays 1,900 Parsteel; capturing Javaid pays a Grace Chen shard. Both choices add 20 Recruit Tokens and unlock A Fair Trial. It is a short early mission with a clear choice between Ressourcen and an officer shard.
Man Out Of Time objectives
Two shared objectives lead to the choice:
- Locate the outlaw, Javaid. Standort: Maluria.
- Disable Javaid’s ship. Location: Maluria (enemy strength ~363).
- Choose what to do with Javaid.
Let Javaid go
- Besiegen Sie die Klingonisch bounty hunter. Location: Maluria (enemy strength ~344).
Rewards: 1,900 Parsteel, 20 Recruit Tokens.
Capture Javaid
- Return Javaid to your station.
Rewards: 1 Grace Chen shard, 20 Recruit Tokens.

Man Out Of Time is picked up in any of 12 systems: Baw, Estrada, Vinland, Bridford, Laurgatt, Zukerat, Bohvanderro, Takik, Landi, Benzi, Aker and Ruli. It needs warp 5 to start and warp 5 to complete, and Javaid is found in Maluria.
The recommended level is 4. Javaid’s ship at about 363 strength and the Klingon bounty hunter at about 344 are both light fights.

Letting Javaid go costs one more small fight, against a Klingon bounty hunter, and pays 1,900 Parsteel. Capturing Javaid skips the fight and pays a Grace Chen shard. At level 4 the Parsteel is useful, but the shard is the rarer reward.

All three chase Romulan fugitives at warp 5. Capturing Javaid and then running A Fair Trial gives two Grace Chen shards in a row.
Tips
If you are collecting Grace Chen, capture Javaid. Several other level 4 to 6 missions picked up in Baw also pay her shards, including Überreste der Antike und Verratenes Vertrauen.
