Who is Jadzia Dax in Star Trek Fleet Command

Jadzia Dax is an epic Engineering officer in Star Trek Fleet Command, and almost everything about her kit points the same way: Solo Armadas. Both of her abilities only trigger against Solo Armada targets, so she is a focused specialist rather than a crew member you drop into any ship.

She comes from the Deep Space Nine roster and sits in the Föderationsfraktion. Her abilities scale off officer health, which means she rewards players who pair her with a high-health bridge and who actually run Solo Armada content regularly.

This guide walks through her Star Trek background, what each ability does, her character traits and shard costs, and which Offiziere slot in beside her.

Jadzia Dax in Star Trek canon

Jadzia Dax appears in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, played by Terry Farrell across the show’s first six seasons. She is a joined Trill: the union of the long-lived Dax symbiont and Jadzia, the symbiont’s eighth host. That joining gives her the memories and skills of seven previous lifetimes on top of her own.

Before joining, Jadzia earned top distinctions at Sternenflotten-Akademie in astrophysics, exoarchaeology, exobiology, and zoology. She was first rejected from the Trill joining program by her field docent, Curzon Dax, then reapplied and became the only Trill ever to complete the program after a rejection. She joined with Dax in 2367 and was posted to Deep Space 9 in 2369 as a science officer under Captain Benjamin Sisko, who had been Curzon’s close friend and still called her “old man.”

On the station she helped discover the Bajoran wormhole, took up Klingonisch martial arts and the bat’leth, honored a Klingon blood oath, and later married Worf and joined the House of Martok. During the Dominion War she commanded the Defiant on the mission to mine the wormhole. She was killed in 2374, and the Dax symbiont passed to a new host, Ezri.

Her role in STFC

In game terms, Jadzia Dax is a damage officer for one specific activity: Solo Armadas. Her captain ability and her officer ability both read “against Solo Armadas,” so outside that content she does nothing useful. Inside it, she stacks piercing, accuracy, and weapon damage onto your run.

The other thing that defines her is how she scales. Both abilities convert a percentage of officer health into combat stats. The bigger the health pool on your bridge, the more she gives back, so she works best alongside high-health officers rather than glass-cannon attackers.

Captain ability: Keen Eye

As captain, Keen Eye increases Shield Piercing, Armor Piercing, and Accuracy by 700% of the officer’s health against Solo Armadas, as of the latest Daten. Piercing helps your weapons punch through the armadas’ mitigation, and accuracy keeps your shots from glancing, so this is a clean offensive seat for that content.

The captain bonus is tied to officer health, which is the main thing to plan around. Seating high-health officers next to her, and ranking up the crew so their health pools grow, both push the bonus higher. Because the captain value does not scale cleanly by rank in a way the data supports, treat the rank 1 figure as the reference point and lean on the concept rather than chasing a per-rank captain table.

Officer ability: Warrior Spirit

In any bridge seat, Warrior Spirit increases Weapon Damage by a percentage of officer health against Solo Armadas. This one does scale with promotion, and the jump from low to high rank is steep. Current as of the latest game data, the bonus by rank is:

Rang Weapon damage (% of officer health)
1 300%
2 450%
3 650%
4 900%
5 1,200%

Because the multiplier nearly quadruples from rank 1 to rank 5, her shards do real work here. A low-rank Jadzia still helps, but the difference at full rank is large enough that she is one of the officers worth promoting if Solo Armadas are part of your routine.

Where Jadzia Dax shines

Her best and really only home is Solo Armadas. If you are farming them for loot, directives, or event points, she adds piercing and accuracy from the captain chair and a large weapon-damage boost from the bridge. Stack her with other officers whose abilities favor that content and you get a noticeable bump to clear speed.

She is also a strong reason to invest in your Deep Space Nine crew as a group, since her synergy partners all come from that show. If you are building toward DS9 content or just have several of those officers already, she fits naturally.

Where she does not help: PvP, general hostile grinding, mining, or station defense. Her abilities simply do not read on those targets, so keep her parked unless a Solo Armada is on the menu.

Character traits

Jadzia Dax has three traits, and each one has to be fully leveled before the next unlocks. The order is Ambitious, then Reliable, then Empathic. Leveling them costs officer XP, and the totals climb sharply once you reach Empathic, with the final level being by far the heaviest single investment.

Merkmal Officer XP per level
Ambitious (3 levels) 1,500 / 2,700 / 3,800
Reliable (4 levels) 7,650 / 6,000 / 7,000 / 8,850
Empathic (9 levels) 10,000 / 4,000 / 7,000 / 10,000 / 15,000 / 23,000 / 42,000 / 68,000 / 107,000

The Empathic trait is the long haul. Its last few levels alone cost more XP than the first two traits combined, so plan your officer XP around how much you actually want from her trait tree.

Shard costs and ranking up

Jadzia Dax goes from recruitment to maximum rank over five ranks, with the shard cost weighted heavily toward the last promotion. The per-rank costs are:

Rang Shards to promote into this rank
1 (Ensign) 110
2 (Lt. JG) 110
3 (Lieutenant) 230
4 (Lt. Commander) 300
5 (Commander) 850

That works out to 1,600 shards from first unlock through rank 5. Since Warrior Spirit scales so hard with rank, the final 850-shard push is the one that turns her from a helper into a real damage source for Solo Armadas.

Synergy and crew

Jadzia’s class synergy bonus favors Command and Science partners over Technik ones, with values around Command 350%, Engineering 175%, and Science 350%. In practice that means her crew slots reward Command and Science officers a little more when the synergy lines up.

Her named synergy officers are all Deep Space Nine characters: Benjamin Sisko, Changeling Kira, Miles O’Brien, Odo, Julian Bashir, and Kira Nerys. Building a DS9 bridge around her is the straightforward way to make her synergy pay off. Beyond those partners, the general rule still applies: because her abilities scale on health, high-health officers make her captain bonus and weapon-damage boost hit harder.

How to get Jadzia Dax

Shard sources rotate over time, so check the current event and faction store offerings in your game for where she is available right now. When she shows up, you collect her shards and promote her through the five ranks above. If she is not currently obtainable, watch the event calendar, since officers like her cycle back through Solo Armada and faction events.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jadzia Dax any good?

For Solo Armadas, yes. She brings piercing, accuracy, and a large weapon-damage boost to that content. For anything else, she sits idle, because her abilities only fire against Solo Armada targets.

What ship is Jadzia Dax best on?

Put her on whatever ship you take into Solo Armadas, ideally one with a strong weapon platform so her damage boost has something to multiply. Since she scales off health, a durable hull and high-health crew help her get the most out of every shot.

Where do you get Jadzia Dax shards?

Check the current store and event rotations in your game. Her shard source moves around, so the in-game event calendar and faction stores are the reliable place to look.

Who are Jadzia Dax’s synergy officers?

Her synergy partners are the Deep Space Nine crew: Benjamin Sisko, Changeling Kira, Miles O’Brien, Odo, Julian Bashir, and Kira Nerys.

Is Jadzia Dax worth ranking up?

If you run Solo Armadas, the rank-up is worth it. Warrior Spirit roughly quadruples from rank 1 to rank 5, so promoting her is where most of her value comes from.

The bottom line on Jadzia Dax

Jadzia Dax is a specialist, and that is the whole point of crewing her. If Solo Armadas are part of your weekly routine and you have a deep Deep Space Nine bench, she earns her seat and gets better the more you rank her. If you rarely touch that content, there are more flexible officers to chase first.
