In the Failures of the Past is a level 51 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you regroup after a failed attempt and come up with another plan. You start at your station, then investigate a Progenitor artifact in Dhi’ban, scan a Progenitor pod in Beta Assembly and examine sub-faction space in ZA-87B. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 205 to complete. The reward is a Data shard and 8,250,000 Dilithium, with no fights along the way.
In the Failures of the Past objectives

The mission opens at home, then sends you on three investigation stops. The first is the Progenitor artifact in Dhi’ban, the second is a pod scan in Beta Assembly, and the last is a look around sub-faction space in ZA-87B. No hostile or donation is listed, so every step is travel plus an investigation or scan.
Wo und welcher Warp
In the Failures of the Past has no pickup system and starts at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 205, the same as the mission before it.
The recommended level is 51. Warp 205 is the practical bar: a ship that cannot reach that range will stall partway through the route.

In the Failures of the Past and neighbouring missions
The mission comes after Unglückliche Realitäten, where you test the tachyonic pulse, and before Jenseits der Horizonte, where you investigate Federation fringe space.

Beyond Horizons drops back to warp 56, so after this mission the range requirement eases considerably. It also pays another Data shard, which makes the two Missionen a natural pair if you are collecting him.
Tips
Use a ship with enough range and do not worry about combat. With no fights listed, the only risk is running short of warp on the long jumps between Dhi’ban, Beta Assembly and ZA-87B.
The Dilithium reward is large, so it is a good one to finish before starting any upgrade that is waiting on Dilithium.
